Naughty Dog has said they ended Joel and Ellie's story with this game so they won't be playable at least in the sequel.

Yeah I don't know how to feel about it either. There isn't really a wrong choice to be honest. But if they return, it needs to be a new take or direction since the journey in this game was resolved in one shot.
Then these characters are so much more special now.
But yeah, I've mixed feelings about that.

You knew they couldn't leave The Last Of Us franchise alone.. Too much money involved now. I'm just glad their story is to themselves.
I kinda feel like no matter what they do, the original story will be the grail. The sequel(s) might be good but they'll never quite have the mystique that the original had.

Oh I had no doubt that this will be a trilogy, way too many people fawning all over it and rightfully so. I would like a sequel where they're both in it but you see them at a distance as a different character/s.

Was talking to my friend today on skype. He called the game boring and it only peaked his interest for no more than an hour. He said it was go here kill hunters, kill infected move on go here. I said It's the story that is great. He replied what story..........i Hung up the call he is now no longer my friend lol.

That would be very cool. Seeing them as NPCs. There's so much story in between the seasons in the game. And obviously, as pointed out by a certain "leader" late into the game, they didn't go undetected. The possibilities truly are endless but I agree with your thoughts.

Looking forward to the single player DLC. Still can't get into multiplayer, multiplayer has kind of died for me i enjoy single player games a lot more nowadays.

i have only played multi for a short amount of time. It has potential but i can't pull myself away from the single player on my survivor + run now.

It's really fun! but everybody is already a little vested so you might find it a little difficult.
I had a hard time at first but I find myself coming back for more, it's like Uncharted MP but refined, balanced, and it's ALL about team work, if you split from your team, you consider yourself dead!
No bazookas, only small arms and things you can craft, really enjoyable.
