Re: 'The Last of Us' - new IP from Naughty Dog
Finally purchased this game 2 days ago and this is easily the best game I have purchased since "Max Payne 3" from last year..."Tomb Raider" was definately an amazing game released this year as well.
...but I must say that I have never played a game that literally made me scared at many moments. I am not talking about the feeling like "man if I do not survive I will have to play this whole section all over again!"...but I mean real fear that I feel as one or several of those Clickers sneak up on me in the dark as I am racing to slowly load the revolver just so I can shoot these things at the very last split second right before they try and grab me and chew my neck apart barely surviving. My face will become flushed and my heart rate will go through the roof.
Now that is what I call one kick arse game.
I chose to start the game on "Hard" and to me that is the perfect level as this will force you to really have to use strategy throughout rather than just running and gunning because not playing it smart will get you killed over and over again.
*Minor Spolier Alert*: I am at the part where Ellie and Joel just parted ways with Bill and now we have crashed into another town.
I am taking my sweet arse time playing this game as I want it to last as long as possible and so far it has taken me a little over 7 Hours to get where I am at...I hope the game ends up being long because according to my stats I am already almost halfway through the game.
My only complaint...the graphics while beautiful and nice...are not the best graphics Sony has put out on their PS3. Also even after turning down the brightness and adjusting my HDTV to a lower level the graphics in this game are way too "vivid". Another words everything seems way too bright during the scenes that take place during the daytime when outside.
This game to me has strong elements taken from the movie "the Road", and "the Walking Dead" series.
A must buy for sure...although I am quite sure that pretty much everyone has played this game by now.
