The DML chainmail is from the Timeline figures. You can usually pick them up cheap. They are rubber arm and leg coverings with chainmail patterning on them. Not too bad - rubber is a little thick and restricts movement.

Does it not include the vest or tunic as well? I need that part.

DML had a viking with the full chainmail with short sleeves and tunic portion running down to just above the knees.

I really praise you lot who are willing and able to customise yourself more LotR figures. I'm useless at it... the best you'll get from me is a kit-bash like the TTT Aragorn I'm working on using Boromirs gauntlets, cloak etc (pics coming soon). The Gimli DiD/TB combo seems to be fairly straight-forward so I may attempt it if i can get em cheap.

DiD and ToyBiz are getting lucky at the moment! But what I really need is more Sideshow!

Customs are the only option if you want to continue the 1/6th LOTR collecting experience.

I bet you'd be surprised by what you can do -- and customize. It's not so hard... and you have an interest and a love for figures, so you're 80% there.

GIMLI I know, a lot of Gimlis should be coming up soon.

I think there's two others working on Ringwraiths.

Anybody got any other custom stuff going on here? Just curious what customs we may be seeing in the future.

Well, for me, Gimli is the highest priority because he'll be the most difficult to do. I'll start on the ringwraiths once I finish my Gimli. As for Merry and Pippin, I think we can start a commission thread to see if someone on this board would be willing to cast some sculpts. And we can always use the sideshow hobbit bodies for them.

I'm out for Merry and Pippin so some else will have to carry that fight.

I'm hoping someone here comes up with a solution to the lack of villains issue -- besides the Ringwraith.

I'd love a LURTZ and a GOTHMOG on the shelf as well as a basic MORIA ORC.

If I could have one memorable nasty villain from each film on my shelf I'd be happy: Ringwraith, Orc warrior, and Gothmog would be ideal.

I'm working my end to see if I can get something going to that end. I hope to know soon and will report the news, if any.

Ok, started some late night work. I have seen a killer GTW and wanted to give it a try. He's about 60% complete. Needs a repaint and some extra clothing. I am going to attach the DID sheath also.
