Looks like there's an ESB hardback coming out in July similar to the one they released for ANH. :rock

Wow! I love the cover.

Since its official publication date is now July 20 you might wanna keep your eyes/ears peeled for an announcement of the inevitable SDCC Exclusive Edition because the Con is that same week.

What would a con exclusive be for this? I have the hardcover of the ANH book, and it is chock full, very entertaining reading, and a must have for the book collection. This will be too!

Thanks for the info! :D

I think that's a pretty good price - 37% off. The paperpack is also 37% off and cheaper, but you got to love hardbacks. :rock

Ok cool. I'll have to order it when I can afford it.

Thanks for posting this Waller, I have the ANH book and I love it. I'll be getting this for sure.

:rock

iLL you going to C5 ?

I think this is a quote taken out of context. When he said that Empire was the worst, he meant it was the worst one to make because of the success of the original and the expense of making the film.

I agree... especially some of the conditions... cold... snow... and the swamp set... quite depressing for Hamill being the only real actor on the set...

You think so ? The original cameo out pretty close to C4 and there were no specials ...

I need to get the first one first!

I always thought Lucas seems to be the sweetest guy until I read more of him and on the autobiography by John Baxter. Could it be that he lost so much of his health directing ANH that he became very possessive of his own creation? Could be the reason why he wouldn't let it go and have someone write new stories for new movies. We can wish.

NO. Many have thought the same thing at first, but the people that were there said he was dead serious. And that he brang this up again when he spoke at USC.

Maybe he's jealous cause Empire is revered as the best and he did not direct it. I would love for it to be some dorky humor, if anything to show that he's not totally out of touch.

I really love how they're addressing it by its true title, "The Empire Strikes Back" instead of "Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back," the klunky titling system put into place for all films after TPM was released.

Awesome!

I have the HCs for Star Wars and the Complete Indy. This one will be bought as well.

This week's issue of Entertainment Weekly features a 30th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back cover, with an excerpt and photos from the upcoming book;

Looks like the book has been bumped to October :(

Yeah, I found that a bit shocking...anniversary year more than half over at that point, and it misses the C V too...

Regardless...I'm really looking forward to this one! One of my favorite SW books is my dog-eared paperback of "Once Upon a Galaxy: The Making of the Empire Strikes Back"...it's written by an old studio publicist named David Arnold and it's a howl! I'm sure this new book won't be quite as dishy (or fun) but if it's as comprehensive as the one for SW:ANH, it'll be great...

October????? Then it bettter be worth the wait. I want to see a ton of new never before seen photos!!!
