Sorry Indy, Im stealing your tag line.:whip
Cuz its just as appropriate here.
When I saw Trevor's work on Indys Fedora I knew I had to wrangle him to come on board and give another iconic cinema hero his trademark hat.
It was a long shot, I know Sideshow keeps our boy busy but he graciously said "Yes".
(never underestimate the power of groveling)
As you can see I was right by looking at the images below.
Elated doesnt begin to cover my feelings when I saw the picts.
Hats are a tricky deal for sculptors(thin brims, just the right tapper and angle)
but Mr.Grove makes it look easy...so easy in fact he cranked this out in a friggin' weekend!:horror
48 HRS: Subtract eating, sleeping and *ahem* other physical requirements and he still has time to watch Quigley Down Under at the same time!
Wow.
Thank You Trevor for lending me your skills and adding your own wonderful alchemy to the project.

again, I'm happy to be a part of another great project! I'm the lucky one!

Now, if I can start banging out stuff in a weekend...EVERY weekend....maybe we can get a Barrel for our Jaws figures and some Lawrence of Arabia accessories. :)

Absolutely Gorgeous. Love seeing stuff like this! Iconic. Legendary. Classic! Deserving Tribute. :D :clap

The last trick of this project is going to be the toughest.
The Sharpes rifle.
Im going to approach Ti-lite to do it.
If I can pull off an actual metal and wood 1/6th Sharpes....
Like the WW2 rifles theyve been doing, man that will make the wait so worth it.
Did you guys catch the snake rattler on the band? Trev got it all :monkey2 sniffle (Tears of joy)

Oh, I wish I hadn't seen this! LOL! I love ole Quigley! I can hear Alan Rickman now, "Mr. Quigley!"
GREAT job and I am full of envy! Too badass for words! Must see this one finished!

I don't know the Quigley Sharps well enough to know whether this helps, but Zuno announced a while back over at OSW that DF Studio would be making a Sharps with the octagonal barrel under Rainman's direction for the Rainman Blondie figure:

See the WIP picture here.

It hasn't gone up for sale yet. It won't be wood, but Rainman's weapons are always pretty cool...and always sell out...

Thanks for that link Gruff.
Im sure Rainman/Zuno will do a good job on that rifle, but its not Quigleys model.
Angie Portman was my original choice to do the rifle but after I sent reference and completed a previous project with her
she fell ill and as far as I can determine hasnt been able to return to 1/6th weapon smithing. Frankly I dont know that shes even still alive given her abrupt departure.
Ive still got loads of reference, most from the actual company who made the rifles for the movie:Shiloh/Sharpes
Hell, I might even contact them given the strong connection to the movie to see if theyd want to do it. Can you imagine if they could and would!?!
Ideally Id want the Vernier sights which were unique as well as an actual opening butt powder box.
It may take another 3 yrs to find the right people for the job but itll happen.
Ive even considered Weta.
If you go to the Weta site they say the modelers on staff are available for hire.
