I have zero interest in this. Mando retired to his little plot of land with Grogu. End of.

I'm calling it now, these two are definitely making a comeback in the Mando film. Their performances were simply too mesmerizing to forget! 🤩
In fact, I'm still highly disappointed in Hot Toys that they haven't made these two WTF characters yet that I completely forgot the names of.

I don't know about this, It's really sinking in Mando ended S2.
With Grogu safely delivered to the still positive hopeful Luke (who is not the Disney version, worst Jedi, failed POS coward who caused his entire academy to get killed, and didn't force Grogu an ultimatum between Jedi or family, something he himself refused to chose between, re-defining the Jedi).
And actually manages to pas on what he learned and train the next gen of Jedi.
With Grogu safe, Mando settled back with that hot spotchka chick and finally allowed her to remove his helmet.

The End.

I think Favreau really had a conclusive end, delivering Grogu to Luke.
Grogu merch had Disney corporate demanding more, and team Favroni have been phoning it and stretching it thin since.
What else can they squeeze out of this? . ....apparently a movie, with a guy who throws his hat and uses it like a shield and snowboard.
Nah, if Embo is in this they can take my money day one.

Rant incoming

Have we not seen this **** with Rotta the Hut once before?! Why are we rehashing that plot?!

Why are they taking probably the biggest star SW has had in the last twenty years and doing the absolute least with him?! Not one original plot point does he get! Not one! WTF?! I swear Disney is staffed by the most supreme incompetents I have ever had the displeasure to know of. They take lightning in a bottle, and then SMASH the bottle. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but no. I cant.

Where the *F* is Bossk? And I want an intimidating and scary Bossk, he should be like those new Gorn Star Trek has, the sixties are over! and so are the seventies... Trandoshans should be scary! Where the *F* is Dengar? Where is Fennec, for that matter?! We're just gonna negative-reflection season 1. These people think we are fools! Where are Din's Mando brothers? Where is ANYONE who matters!

instead of regurgitating Rotta, how about we get a NEW Clone Wars animated series, TBB badly needs replacing. But no! We are gonna get whatever this is, shoehorned into the Mandoverse. FML! These ppl are so stupid! I honestly feel sorry for Din, they are wasting him.

I genuinely hope this movie turns out to be good and somehow rekindle the interest in collecting Mando figures among the public crowd so I could get rid of my entire Mando collection without suffering heavy financial loss...

Because they don't feel they have a choice. Every other attempt to relaunch a sequel era franchise has fallen apart on them.

AMC once had a juggernaut. Mad Men and Breaking Bad were both flagship level shows. Then The Walking Dead came and got huge numbers. From 2010 to 2013, the network was the top of the heap. Finally Mad Men and Breaking Bad got to the end of their natural runs, and all that was left was Walking Dead. Now the entire network is mostly built around more and more Walking Dead concepts. The network got a short shot in the arm with The Terror and some strong performance by Better Call Saul, but now they are just more Walking Dead again.

Your perspective on the legacy era bounty hunters like Dengar and Bossk are, IMHO, spot on. If you don't have a legacy canon character to hold up your new show, then find an interesting concept. Bounty hunters outside of Mandalorians could be interesting fertile ground. Also Rogue Squadron has huge potential, still vastly untapped, if Lucasfilm could find a way to execute at a high level with something like that.

Part of the problem is the aim is keep going bigger and bigger. Mandalorian was at it's best when it was small stakes and small stories. Not every concept needs the fate of the entire universe at stake. The core worldbuilding is strong enough for Star Wars to have these smaller stories succeed.

KK is in her early 70s. She cut her teeth on a long line of huge tentpole films and juggernaut returns. But the industry has changed since then, the way people consume media and information has changed, fighting to get the attention of consumers is much harder. This is a common story, as people get older, they are more apt to refuse to change their ways or adapt to the changing environment around them. Can most people in their 70s understand why Mr Beast has a larger audience engagement than any modern Star Wars property?

Human beings were never meant to live this long. There's a reason why our society is falling apart and it's mostly run by geriatrics. Most of recorded human history had power shift because people were wiped out. You fail and you die. That was that. Kathleen Kennedy's infliction on all of Star Wars fandom is also a product of the modern subversion of basic natural selection. I don't know what to tell you, having to wait for someone to die before things get better is also another tale as old as time ( Al Davis/Raiders for example)

I would enjoy seeing the concepts you suggest to hit the big screen. But it's not likely to get there when the decision making comes from someone in their 70s.
