The idea of an "ex-stormtrooper" was a good start for something... but it seems that was all they had for him, and even that backstory never really amounted to much more than him knowing where the garbage chute was.

A character like that ... probably belonged in Rogue One.

That said, it was the Skywalker Saga by Disney (*cringe*) so they couldn't go too hard-bitten, but Finn's character should have been more gray, conflicted about his past and the idea of turning on his former comrades. Personal freedom is one thing, killing your erstwhile fellow squaddies is another. Plenty of trust issues between him and the Resistance, too. Way too much to ask for even more depth but he'd probably have a hard time outside of the cruel and rigid structure he was raised in.

But we got what we got. :horse

You remember Han. You said he made you cry when he said "Chewie... We're home" in the TFA trailer.

I'll never forget that... or let you.

There have been many Wor-Gar moments in my years on this board, but that was one of the Wor-Gar-iest.

My favorite was when C3PO says goodbye to all his "friends"

Disney+ Germany just confirmed that Rosario Dawson and Timothy Olymphant will be in the show via an Instagram story. No more speculating there.

The Writer’s Guild of America website has provided the official list of writers for The Mandalorian season 2, and it’s a pretty short list: Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Rick Famuyiwa are set to pen all eight episodes of the sophomore season. Favreau and Filoni both return as episode writers, while Famuyiwa, who directed two episodes last season, makes his debut as a solo writer for The Mandalorian (he co-wrote the first season’s Chapter 6 with Christopher Yost).

As with season 1, showrunner and executive producer Favreau will do most of the heavy lifting with the scripts, writing six of the eight episodes: Chapter 9, Chapter 10, Chapter 11, Chapter 12, Chapter 14, and Chapter 16. Filoni only writes one episode, Chapter 13, while Famuyiwa is set to pen Chapter 15. While the WGA website doesn’t list directors for the episodes, we can probably assume that Filoni and Famuyiwa will direct the episodes they wrote.

Other filmmakers confirmed to be involved in this season are returning director Bryce Dallas Howard, and new directors Peyton Reed, Robert Rodriguez, and Carl Weathers (who plays Greef Karga on the show).

Meanwhile, we got official confirmation from Disney+ Germany that Rosario Dawson will be joining the cast as Ahsoka Tano, as well as Sasha Banks, and Timothy Olyphant as a character named Cobb Vanth who wears Boba Fett’s famous armor. Other live-action versions of beloved Star Wars characters will be making their debut in season 2 including Temuera Morrison as Boba Fett, Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan, and Michael Biehn as a bounty hunter, who join current regulars Pedro Pascal and Gina Carano.

Works for me. Had no problems at all with story/narrative last season. IMO lots of writers - like lots of inexpensive inexperienced writers who are cheaper - is fatal. IMO Captain Marvel a prime example.

If it works don't mess with it.

I really hope that season 2 gets more expansive with its storytelling.

I really did not care for the video game style of the first season..

Go on adventure with small "playable" 2nd character :lol.. Earn coins.. Go back to base and upgrade your outfit and tools. Blah..

I thoroughly enjoyed Mando but it was *so* video-gamey with how the quests played out. It even had a person who literally did nothing but sit underground in the same spot for days on end until he was ready to get new weapons, lol.

Man I hated this character... Ripped right out of Star Trek TNG... Had he been voiced differently he could have worked.. Yuck!

Yeah, I had the distinct feeling I saw that guy in the Star Trek universe at the time. I think his bounty may be symbolic...

He was an annoying character, but I'd say he's more DS9 than TNG (i.e., slightly improved prosthetics/make-up). He does look like someone who might have hung out in Quark's bar from time to time. Come to think of it, Quark's brother was quite annoying too. Maybe that's why I thought of DS9. Continuity-wise he probably shouldn't look this good, given that the clientele at the old Mos Eisley cantina now look pretty bad by comparison. :lol

Quark... does anyone remember the show, Quark from the late 70's? :lol
