The thing about CG now ... if I'm not thinking about it they've done a great job. I didn't look at the Razor Crest being pulled out of the water and think "Wow, those are killer FX!" ... which is how (in hindsight) I know those were killer FX.

Yes the thing with a lot of shots in Mando is that they are so perfectly lifelike I don't look at them and say "wow, great CGI!" No instead I see moments like the Razor Crest dropping onto the pad and think "HOW can that be CGI????" It's like I'm looking through a window into the actual world of Star Wars. I know it's fake, I know most of it was rendered in a computer, but we're finally at the point (on a freaking TV show no less!!!) where my eyes simply can't accept that it is *not* real. That's what's so mindblowing to me. We have "real" Star Wars. Week in and week out. Part of me wishes that George *was* still in charge just because I'd like to see him at the very least go back and redo all of the PT CGI with Mando CGI (since we all know that he would if given the chance, lol.) So much of it would still suck of course but wow just to see things like Geonosis, Kashyyyk, all those crappy Jedi Temple interiors, etc., totally redone with Mando visuals would be something to see.

:exactly::clap

Gorgeous/glorious the only words I can come up with. Transported. Was mildly annoyed when I found out they really hadn't been in a California desert for the Season 1 shot of Mando and the Child trying to heal him.:lol

One of the reasons I went back to see TLJ was just the cinematography (end battle shots). Remember thinking I'd never see it (those frames) that way again.

But with Mandalorian, here we are.:clap:clap:clap. This show will be the reason I upgrade my entertainment system. After paying off the collectibles.

Agreed on all counts, especially being quite bummed to discover that the scenic shot of Baby Yoda trying to heal Mando's arm being indoors. I literally felt the exact same way about that exact same scene. There was just something about that moment that was so authentic in all the "tangible" ways that classic SW is to me. To learn that it was shot indoors on a high tech soundstage was quite the shock indeed. But if the end result is what we we're getting then I see nothing to complain about.

Personally I do not want or need a show that mimicked Rambo in Space, or Arnold Terminator like hero.

I want a show that?s more nuanced than that. I think the show would get boring really fast if it?s just bad ass Mando kicking the crap out of the villain of the week.

But some people do want that. That why they couldn?t accept Luke failing in ST.

I would suggest they watch wrestling as a drama over Mando. That?s a pretty cut and dry bad guy vs good guy motif.

Speaking only for myself, I do agree with you; that level of uncertainty (albeit far more adult) was what made the best of GoT so great. However, one of my few criticisms of this show (because overall it's great entertainment) is the *lack of nuance*.

But it's something I have to accept given they're aiming at kids first, grown adult nerds later. You can make Din a grounded, fallible protagonist without making him inexplicably dense, but that's not the way they write it all the time. I mean it's fine, me complaining about this show is like me complaining about pizza. It's still pizza and I'm gonna devour it!

[...] Or, the wash-rinse-repeat some folks seem to want isn't something I'd watch, and likely would be a pretty boring and short series anyway.

One thing that actually surprised me and told me this won't be wash-rinse-repeat was the idea that there's *another way*. Given what we've seen in other media it makes sense now. That's going to be interesting. We know he's open enough to learn to be flexible (e.g. droids) but this will obviously take some particularly heavy lifting for him given how long he's been drinking the Space Kool-Aid.

Space Kool aid and Pizza can be fun to eat, but it gives you Galactic Gastro Distress if consumed weekly.

Given what a significant subset of Star Wars fandom is committed to consuming with gusto, this show will never be in any danger of nutritional correction. ;)

Maybe we should just ignore all this outrage from both sides and stick to the people whom have actual common sense ......you know.....Star Wars fans.

I dabbled with those outrage about outrage youtubers for a time but I can't watch them anymore. If I was setting up a youtube channel it'd be called ''Everyone just STFU'' and every upload would be a black screen and silence, a place to go and have no reaction whatsoever to anything.

Because its fun to laugh at how incredibly stupid they are.

I think it's more fun to talk about the entertainment we love while carrying on as if the "victim culture" idiots simply didn't exist. I'm with a-dev on this one. SJW's are pathetic and those who are constantly triggered by SJW's are also pathetic. I'm not putting you in either camp so please don't see this as an attack, I just wish that every time that these people wrote something a little Happy Gilmore auto-response would pop up ("no part of what you said could be considered a rational thought, we're all dumber for having read it, may God have mercy on your soul") and then they'd never be quoted again.

But now I have to actively *not* think about those morons the next time I watch BK kicking ass in her cool armor, you know what I'm saying? :)

Was BK pushing Mando into action because as the ship was nose diving towards the water she just stuck with her verbal count down clock.

8,000
7,000
6,000

Then Mando just runs for it lol

Holy crap totally, lol. If an altitude meter was a standard feature on all Mando helmet HUD's then she wouldn't have needed to announce the countdown verbally. But instead Mando was all, "wait, seriously, we're dropping that fast" and away he went. :lol

On another note I loved all the facial reactions from the younger Imperial pilot. They had really awesome Imperials this episode.

Even Gideon seemed cooler than his Season 1 appearance. "Long. Live. The Empire..." Damn that was a cold delivery.
