I doubt that someone will say that they dont like the guest characters now because this have to be the Mando's show only like last weeks episode.

I might be the only one that, despite liking Rodriguez's style and even a few scenes here, found that this episode was some of the most over the top fan fictionish cheese I've seen so far lol.

The looking away from explosion shots on a set that seemed to be the hills of Northern California (possibly an old Stargate location even) was quite the juxtaposition up against last weeks Kurosawa spaghetti Western showdown homage.:lol

That was a lot to unpack...

I have to assume that the answer to Grogu's signal will be the season ending cliffhanger, with a lot more action in between.

I?m all in on the team up. Looks like it?s going to be all of team Mando going after the kid. I bet Bo Katan reenters the fray as well. Assemble! [emoji16]

Din, Greef, Cara, Boba, Fennec, Bo Katan, a squad of Nite Owls, Cobb Vanth and Ahsoka cutting through waves of troopers on an Imperial cruiser would certainly be a sight to see.

You heard the hand, the kings too Fatt for his armour.

I felt the same. It was fun, in an '80s TV kinda way. I liked a lot of the Fett scenes. Morrison brought the brutality he's capable of, absent in the PT. Yes, incredibly EU and fan-service-y but the very existence of the character post-ROTJ is the definition of that.

I also noticed his intonation and line delivery was more along the lines of pre-Special Edition ESB (I forget, did Bulloch voice Fett in the original?).

Fennec or whatever her name is ... her acting always takes me out of it, but on this show she's not the only one.

I think the Dark Trooper design just looks bad, but whatever.

A moment of silence for the Haslab backers.

...

There.

I almost wonder if Fett's gonna "die honourably* and pass the Slave I and armour to Mando or something goofy like that.

Giancarlo loves chewing on scenery as much as he loves action figures, who knew? :lol

The stormtroopers did their job here, but they were still played up as a buncha dumb mooks ... again. *yawn* ... How I long for the goons that walked over the Tantive IV or silently took over Cloud City.

Surely I'm not the only one that felt thousands of Haslab backers cry out in terror and were suddenly silenced.

This episode was indeed the most over the top, fan fictiony, fan servicey thing I've ever seen in my life....it was practically a 30 minute fan handie......but damn it. I love Boba Fett. I'll most likely be going with either Black Series, or MAFEX. You know they're all coming. Hell, I was half-expecting the Hot Toys solicitation to be up already.

This one was indeed like watching a live action TV show of me playing with my toys as a 6 year old, and I loved it for that....but I still hate that this is about 37 years too late for me to truly appreciate.

PS....the Dark Troopers looked dorky as hell.

Well Fett has to die now, Mando can't fly his jetpack from planet to planet...

In this episode he apparently couldn't even remember he owned a jetpack. As soon as he took it off it was conveniently ignored & he resorted to scrambling up and down the hillside. No doubt so everyone could see Boba Fatt (must be some good restaurants in the Outer Rim) do his thing, but that contrivance was pretty bad writing IMO. The other thing that didn't make sense was Gideon only blowing up the RC. Unless you're going to blow up both ships and strand them there, don't destroy the one you've installed a tracker on! I suppose one could argue they'd figure out they were tracked & remove it, but IMO it was another implausible plot point inserted to allow for Slave I getting more screen time. :slap Not that it wasn't a fun episode anyway - The action was great, BF was shown to still be a total bad@ss, Fennec makes a welcome return, and their debt to Mando was an unexpected bonus.

p.s. - Am I the only one who found

the Dark Trooper's introduction to be a complete letdown? Fly down, grab kid, fly back up. Yawn.

Something tells me that

Boba Fatt won't be sharing any of his armor, so I'd say Cobb's involvement is the least likely at this point. :lol

Spoilers

Another high quality episode, same as last week. Although I personally enjoyed last week a bit more. 8.5 or 9/10 for me.

Pros: nice to see the overall story being pushed forward here, not a filler episode. Loved fetts physical brutal fighting style...great action in general. Nice "dad" moments between mando and grogu. Nice troop carrier design. Grogu beating up on troopers was great. Enjoying moff gideon.

Cons: totally inept cannon fodder troopers again. Dark trooper design is corny imo (but always felt that way regarding comic/game versions too). Wasn't crazy about Fennic (or honestly even fett prior) being brought back, SW is approaching marvel/DC levels where no one ever truly dies. A lot of fan service here, maybe too much. Another short episode.

Random thoughts:
RIP razor crest.
Getting the band back together to go after Grogu (Avengers assemble!) Same as end of season 1 might be a little formulaic but we have yet to see. Maybe they will throw some zingers in the last few episodes.
Why did Fett wait all this time to retrieve his armor from a more formidable Mando when he could've taken it earlier from a weaker Vanth? (The usual SW plothole lol!).

Entertaining though! Really enjoying this season!

Got my issues but..
At the moment in shock 'coz they blew up the Crest. THEY BLEW UP THE CREST. Luvd that ship:monkey2:monkey2:monkey2. It's like losing a major character, for me.

Can't even say it wasn't a reasonable thing to to do strategically, but that was hurtful.

(Also dunno if I am gonna go for HASBRO ship #2 'coz one 30" ship may be enough...$$$$$$:crying)

Still dubious about what feels like a fast forward in the kid's age from toddler to "young Yoda".:pfft: Tho it was hilarious watching Grogu dish out a metaphorical @ss-whupping.

And guess at the moment am not getting the gritty, Rogue One-ish Season One style; but on the other hand all for a 1980s Expendables gather-the-Dirty-Dozen posse:cool:. Very happy Fennec is back:clap. Was never a Boba fan but really like what they did here with the character.

Moff Gideon is a real sadistic *&^^% and hope Din D'jarin spits him like a kabob:cool:. GianCarlo rocks:love. This show is gonna break me from fig collecting $$$$$
And there's something charming and hilarious about Mando referring to all this deep, mysterious, light/dark Force mystery as "Jedi stuff". Definitely a practical man:lol.
Also it's clear he doesn't really wanna give Baby up and Grogu seems to blow raspberries:lol every time this Jedi stuff comes up, so seasons from now I hope this ends well.:drink

Yeah, there was some cheese here, but IMO GOOD cheese - 1980s expensive artisan cheese.
I'm not worried about the Child. 'Coz Din D'jarin is a hunter. And now he's bringing his friends. Hope he reels Timothy Olyphant in too.

Fett dies, Mando yoinks the Slave 1 and Cobb pilfers his armor back [emoji38]

It is a guarantee that Cobb will be back at some point, it was all but confirmed in their parting conversation.
