Got my issues but..
At the moment in shock 'coz they blew up the Crest. THEY BLEW UP THE CREST. Luvd that ship:monkey2:monkey2:monkey2. It's like losing a major character, for me.

Can't even say it wasn't a reasonable thing to to do strategically, but that was hurtful.

(Also dunno if I am gonna go for HASBRO ship #2 'coz one 30" ship may be enough...$$$$$$:crying)

Still dubious about what feels like a fast forward in the kid's age from toddler to "young Yoda".:pfft: Tho it was hilarious watching Grogu dish out a metaphorical @ss-whupping.

And guess at the moment am not getting the gritty, Rogue One-ish Season One style; but on the other hand all for a 1980s Expendables gather-the-Dirty-Dozen posse:cool:. Very happy Fennec is back:clap. Was never a Boba fan but really like what they did here with the character.

Moff Gideon is a real sadistic *&^^% and hope Din D'jarin spits him like a kabob:cool:. GianCarlo rocks:love. This show is gonna break me from fig collecting $$$$$
And there's something charming and hilarious about Mando referring to all this deep, mysterious, light/dark Force mystery as "Jedi stuff". Definitely a practical man:lol.
Also it's clear he doesn't really wanna give Baby up and Grogu seems to blow raspberries:lol every time this Jedi stuff comes up, so seasons from now I hope this ends well.:drink

Yeah, there was some cheese here, but IMO GOOD cheese - 1980s expensive artisan cheese.
I'm not worried about the Child. 'Coz Din D'jarin is a hunter. And now he's bringing his friends. Hope he reels Timothy Olyphant in too.

HT is only going to break us if they get off their a$$ and start churning out pre-orders... Gideon has to go up next week with his strong appearance this week. I'm assuming another character from this episode is a lock (if not, I'm customizing one)...

Very true. I think Vanth was a one-off. Albeit a terrific one. I'm ok with that as the rightful owner of the armor takes priority for me!

Gawd, I hope not. He doesn't have to have Boba's armor. Actually was idly thinking in his position I would already be scrounging up some kind of replacement. With guns. Lots of guns.

Like
Tython wasn't what I was expecting either, re the lore. No problem getting there either re SW lore. But in the interests of moving things along - I really liked the aesthetic. Not sure how uber-SW fans will feel. Anyway there's time down the road to visit some impressive and creepy ruins that are more like what I pictured in my head.

At least it explained why Ahsoka wasn't fazed about sending the Child there. Guess Favreau and co. opted not to do the whole deep dive with Tython's history etc.

Well, yeah but - *&^%$ Covid. I get impatient with stuff like shipping slowdowns and the rest of it. Sux when characters are delayed so long u start forgetting what u ordered.

But I'd rather have HT get some stellar portraits out too.

Fett dies, Mando yoinks the Slave 1 and Cobb pilfers his armor back [emoji38]

It is a guarantee that Cobb will be back at some point, it was all but confirmed in their parting conversation.

I'm not ruling it out - I just think he is the least likely to return this season. Which probably all but guarantees it lol. But I agree he'll definitely be back at some point in the series.

I'm having a hard time reconciling the murderous killing machine shown in this chapter with the slow, flailing clown in ROTJ. :rotfl

And as per the EU he's all "honour" now but this is the same bounty hunter that took a job from Genocidal Fascist Empire no questions asked so he could deliver a guy fighting for the rebels to Murderous Psychopathic Space Gangster.

Bit of cognitive dissonance there.

I wouldn't be that surprised if they kill him off in the season finale.

(Granted, Han Solo was a drug runner, smuggler, thief and swindler but still...)

This episode made me bombard happy.

But the biggest question of all ... will Khev now accept and embrace Temeura Morrison as Boba Fett? Is the Khev Canon still operational or has the Mandalorian chipped away at it enough for Khev to accept all live action Star Wars (including the prequels, including the Holiday Special and even including the ewok movies!).

Maybe he just wanted an easy out of the bounty hunting game :lol.

But wasn't it more of tenuous alliance with Vader so he could collect his bounty on Solo? "I am altering the deal. Pray I don't alter it any further." But yes, he definitely was still working for a Murderous Psychopathic Space Gangster. I guess the honour part developed after he started being slowly digested by a Sarlaac. :lol Although a few of his stormtrooper kills seemed unnecessary and overly brutal. Knocking them unconscious after incapacitating them would have been more honorable and more Mando's "way".

Well he was still working with Space Nazis whatever his reasons, so... to say he's morally flexible is an understatement. Din has no problem straight-up murdering people either. He's pretty cold when The Brat hasn't got him all starry-eyed with Dad feels.

Actually he worked for the Empire too because he was short on cash, come to think of it.

Bounty Hunting is a complicated profession. Wouldn't you agree?

(Wow I miss that character. :lol)

I'm gonna go with

And Boba kinda alludes to it...cast out into the desert and all that. Wandering in the harsh PURITY can change a man. Gives ya time to think. Plus like Din D'jarin seems like he hooked up with some Tusken Raiders, so maybe he picked up some attitudes from their culture besides the weapons.

IMO he still had the crazy eye when killing anyway. Like the Armourer crack, crack, crack. Very satisfying.

Also, I got to hear a Stormtrooper call another one an idiot (briefly:lol). Luv little touches were these usually pretty interchangeable pawns get a moment. Like the Scout Troopers.

This will be my first Boba fig, if I don't weaken and pick up the Mythos.
PS. The Client:clap. Too bad he wasn't higher in the chain so he could insult Moff Gideon, instead of, yah know, dead.

Din has no problem straight-up murdering people either. He's pretty cold when The Brat hasn't got him all starry-eyed with Dad feels.

Well, yeah. He's COMPLICATED:cool:. Already one of my top 5 SW characters.

Din and Grogu be putting away a lotta chowda!

I'm back to feeling like the stereotypical old guy who is completely out of touch with what the younger generation finds cool and satisfying. To me, this episode requires turning off the brain to an extent that I just can't understand the appeal of.

Boba Fett can take down a squad of armed stormtroopers with a melee weapon. He had also forged a partnership with Fennec. But with all that skill and backup, he didn't take his armor back from Cobb Vanth during all that time? Or even try taking it from Din when he got to the Crest on Tatooine? Instead, he decides to track the Crest across the galaxy (apparently) so that he can take it whenever Mando decides to go to a completely abandoned location and yet be away from the baby.

Good thing Fett tracked Mando to the same planet that the Empire did. Convenient. And also good thing that the Imperials decided not to do anything to *his* ship. They destroyed the Crest to prevent escape or tracking, but the only other ship in the entire region? Nah. I guess dark troopers aren't ready for destroy missions yet. But after seeing Remnant stormtroopers in action here, could the dark troopers really possibly be any less effective?

Probably the most inept and incompetent that stormtroopers have ever been, in any medium, satire or otherwise. :slap Why is this running gag being embraced by anyone? Just one of *many* examples: A squad of stormtroopers is watching Fett melee one or two to death, and they *move in* to get in on some of this close-quarters combat fun . . . with blasters in hand! How far is the stormtrooper joke going to go while still being acceptable?

I'm hoping that Boba Fett merely took Fennec somewhere to have surgery for the mechanical intestinal implants, and they're not suggesting that he himself has the equipment and know-how. :lol

And Gideon built baby-sized handcuffs. :lol I gotta give the episode a point for that. That's just hilarious.

"I'm just a simple man..." :slap I don't think I'll ever consider this "my Fett."

I'm really hoping that Thrawn be handled with a different sensibility. Maybe this frolicking, turn-off-your-brain romp is just to clear the way for a different tone later. If not, please leave Thrawn's live-action presence at nothing more than that mention last week.

I'm officially too old for this ****. :( But everyone else is digging it like crazy, so they're definitely doing something *very* right. No doubt about that.

They just canonized Jaster Mereel

Well...

After getting run over by Filoni's clunky Ahsoka show advertisement script last week, wasn't expecting much anyway. Not in 30 minutes. And the script was better. Like there was the breathing space scene where Boba proves his ownership of the armor. I appreciated that. Or the beginning where it's obvious this separation is gonna cause Din D'jarin and Grogu a lot of pain. That doesn't just get blown off, so appreciate that too. Or the moment when Mando clenches his fist around that ball. Or when Fennec and Boba both have that look that's kinda empathetic, without saying anything. Visually, the Force/stone IMO worked - *mystical* without being over the top.

Dunno how Boba's attitude meshes with comics or other history, but it works with what I know from film.

If I stretch it, assuming Vanth hadn't had the armor that long:dunno; maybe Boba had just been watching and waiting for an opportunity. Vanth had a reason to bargain with Mando; maybe the situation with Boba not so much - timing wise. Boba wouldn't just leave without Fennec, so Din D'jarin had left Tatooine by the time he retrieved her.

Not blowing up Boba's ship doesn't bother me; if this is New Republic airspace the Empire remnants were calling attention to themselves just being there. No reason to cause another explosion if it's not on your radar. Moff Gideon seems pretty specific about how he wants things done.

So yeah, at this point I figure Favreau is having some Iron Man/MCU fun before hopefully getting back to the basics. Grittiness. Although maybe Favreau, too, wanted to sidestep an end season as *mournful* as last season (Kuiil, IG):(. The way things look, seems like MAYBE this season will end with a big 1980s @ss-kicking romp, Baby retrieved, mega-fan service, most fans dance with happiness and buy stuff. Keep their Disney+ subscriptions:cool:. Could be wrong, but for sure seems like Din D'jarin is gathering a posse.

Fortunately I can appreciate turn-off-brain Expendables stuff. And down the road, Mando has some serious questions to ask - the whole Death Watch mentality. Retaking Mandalore. Grogru's fate. Possible Dark Force users. I HOPE this entire show winds up with a satisfying mix of complete arc for Din D'jarin/Child, action, lore, depth, and humor.
Guess I gotta trust in Favreau - tho haven't got a choice, really:google. Cautiously optimistic about the last two Season 2 episodes.
