Hey - he got his Rising Phoenix jetpack! Phew. The lack of closure there from last ep annoyed me all week.

And Slave 1 interior was a lot more spacious than I anticipated. Very nice.

Boba looks fresh as ****

I?m just finishing up a life size ROTJ paint up and I can only assume masking and painting technology is significantly better in the Star Wars universe! Now we need a DX with head sculpt and two helmets/sets of armor! Take my money!

Here's a tip for the New Republic: If you spot a palm tree...prepare for Shoretroopers. :lol

Always thought they got a bit ridiculous with their specialty troopers on that one. Might aswell have a Sidewalk-Trooper - for only an elite group of specially trained and outfitted soldiers can navigate the perils of unevenly laid footpaths and correctly judge how to dismount curbs of varying heights while at the same time engaging the enemy!

It's funny because it's true!

Too much variety can be a bad thing, but I think this began in 1980 when Lucas realised the value of toys. For a while the new trooper variants were reasonable, but now there's a trooper for any variation of an eventuality.

Trouble is, some of the new designs look really good. I never liked the Shoretrooper though.

Another Obi lie to add to the pile.

Jesus that guy opens his mouth and lies just spill out.

I do think Mando is in need of a big SW space battle scene to close of the season or at least the build up to one.

Just a dose of a big group of ships of the Mandalorian Empire Republic conflict.

Maybe GAT shows up with an armada.

I don?t know a quick infusion of big holy crap this is still SW to get the geek juices flowing some more.

I need a long shot of Fett running .....that?s all.

Then we can really call this one a fantasy. Bet he couldn?t run more than 19 feet without getting winded.

Now THAT, gentlemen....was 30 minutes stuffed full of fan service, deep SW otaku knowledge, and all out wish fulfillment.

There was so ****ing much to love, but if I had to choose a favorite moment it was Ol' Billy Redbag Burr saying he needed to fill out TPS REPORTS. That's so meta on so many levels I love it. Mike Judge, take a goddamn bow or three. Not only that, we got a scene lifted almost entirely from "Inglourious Basterds!!!" Luckily our heroes fared better than the Basterds in that fateful scene.

Love Mayfeld. Soooo happy he didn't buy the farm and he's out there somewhere. Hey, there was even some chemistry between him and Cara. They can make giant redhead amazonian babies, while Boba bangs his hot-ass 57 year old cyborg Asian chick with what's left of his Sarlacc digested ballsack, and eventually Mando can settle down with the Milf from season one.

LOVED THIS EPISODE. Loved last episode. But they don't exist in a vacuum. Without all the great episodes building up to these, they wouldn't have worked as much.

****ing Hasbro mother****ers.....I was already willing to buy a figure of desert nomad Boba Fett:

Then when he donned the rusted, bleached, digested armor and looked so amazing I was like "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!" I neeeeeeed this in action figure form.

Well, he must have found some fresh matte spray paint in the cargo hold of the Slave One, cause he waltzed down the ramp looking amazing.

Perfect blend of old and new...colors are restored but he still has the black robes on underneath. Just awesome looking.

I'm gonna need figures of all three configurations, and thanks to Fett being such a popular character, it might actually happen. It'll take a while, cause the time from design to production on action figures is usually like 18 months....but I feel confident we'll eventually get our post ROTJ Boba Fett "trilogy" of action figures, and the very hounds of hell can't stop me from owning all of them!

Loved this episode....but the one thing that worries me is that it was TOO easy. I hope they don't turn Mayfeld traitor cause Bill Burr is just too ****ing likable for him to be a backstabber.

Is this the only episode we didn't see baby Yoda? I hate calling him Grogu...dumb name, but hey, what're you gonna do? It's allegedly an homage to "George" so I guess it makes sense.

And is next week the FINALE already?? Sheeeeiiiit.

100% right there with you on the matte spray paint! I really loved the look and need to capture some better still images to really take it all in. I think he ditched his vest or replaced it with a darker colored one. Whatever it is, he looks terrific. If they get him into a flight suit for the finale, I'm going to have to build an entire new shelf for all the collectibles that'll be coming!

I actually liked this episode better than the last one and the last one was good!

What an incredibly solid season.

Fett looked great but sad to see Fett relegated to being a get away uber driver now sigh.

Episodic viewing is starting to rear its ugly head though. .

An entire episode just to flesh out some inner demons and get a map.

I get it Disney needs for me to watch for the next 20 years but Cara sniping some troopers with Mulan is going to get old real fast without any real narrative push.

This folks is why a well made movie WILL ALWAYS be more fulfilling than a well made TV series.

Can they stop with the special effects now it is making 300 million dollar movies look bad.

You know it has been almost 19 YEARS since we last seen that seismic sonic bomb being used and it was glorious fan service lol

I can get more behind an idea like the ObiWan series, limited 4 hour narrative with an ending.

This long form story telling is for the birds.

It's not about the ending Jye, it's the journey. Who am I kidding haha! I feel the same to an extent but this episode was really enjoyable (one nice thing about it is that you can re-watch these episodes in isolation of each other as they more or less tell self contained stories)! So much of this season has felt like a victory lap for the good parts of Star Wars.

Also Grace Randolph needs to check her sources because they were so wrong with all of her pre season 2 leaks, it's laughable at this point.

This was another satisfying episode for me:

  • A look at Imperial troops as being just regular soldiers cheering each other on introduces some mildly uncomfortable ambiguity.
  • As does our ex-Imp's account of Operation Cinder.
  • Remedied by evil Space Nazi officer reminding us the Empire is not just a bunch of regular folks and eating well-deserved blaster fire for it.

  • Mando having to fight without his indestructible armour.
  • The look of surprise on the pirates' faces when they expect Imperial grunts and find Batman.
  • Taking his stupid bucket off. At least he has his priorities straight.
  • Loved his message to Gideon. (Although telling him he's coming is both badass and foolish. Getting in his head sure, but ... really?)

Loved the use of snipers to get our guys out of an impossible situation, as well as our ex-Imp sharpshooter showing what he's capable of.

I feel that more and more with streaming shows in general. If I'm being honest I loved about 1/3 of Mandalorian Season 1, with the rest being wobbly to bad. But most of GoT up to the final season was very well done, so I'm not sure it's the format alone.

I do like a compressed, high-quality story though, it also requires less of my precious life force spent watching it. They did that with a lot of UK series, starting and ending strong. In North America they go for the Soap Opera approach and sometimes that kind of 'world building' gets dull.

Yes that was my favorite part of the episode the grunts hanging out celebrating their small victory.

They all seemed like real people.

It was almost foreign seeing troopers on the winning side lol

They still did the whole funny curious chatter between some of them but overall it worked at making them REAL.

Season 1 had a similar scene with the scout troopers remember but this was at a huge scale.
