I have very little excitement for this new season. I'm definitely fine with waiting a few weeks to see how it goes and to be able to watch several at a time. Or even waiting for the whole season to air to decide whether I care enough to watch.

Or to just skip it altogether.. :lol

Just like Endgame being an end to the MCU for me, the last episode of S2 with Mando handing off Grogu to Luke is a good enough conclusion to this show for me as well...

I don't want Mando to become the next Fett. And sour a character I enjoy. :slap

I have no problem with a tight 30 minute run time. All killer, no filler.

Better than 15 minutes of watching Mon Mothma take a taxi and then go to her apartment and unload her groceries, and then talk to her daughter about her ballet lessons.
The problem is we get a couple of filler episodes like the ice spider one that just take us a week longer to get to the bigger story while Mando does a side quest or two. Some like the prison break paid off later with Miggs having a hand (or apparently unnecessary face) in helping get Grogu back. With 16 episode seasons I’m more forgiving of the adventure of the week type episodes on Bad Batch but with only 8, all of those episodes really need to contribute to the overarching storyline. I’m not saying haven’t enjoyed some of these episodes, because I have, but with short episode lengths and number of episodes, we’re expecting more bang for the wait.

The fact the we’re all still excited after two seasons of that pattern and over two years of waiting for this season means they’re doing enough right to keep us interested.

“After all, there’s only one more sleep till MAA-AN-DO!”

Will it be great? Will it be terrible? Will we even know one way or the other before the end of the season? I’m excited to find out!

That was a great way to end Mando and Grogu.

I'm curious if they have a good idea to expand and go forward -- but 'Grogu the crutch' is not a promising start. Can't they give us a really gripping overall premise that is enough to hook? Then save Grogu for some bonus surprise?

Coming up with a truly great villain would go a long way to building S3 into something good. Villains also help give a story (and show) its focus -- the problem is defined.

I keep forgetting this is on today, yet for seasons 1 and 2, I was chomping at the bit to watch them as soon as they dropped. BoBF and Kenobi completely took away any good will I had for this show, so I'm hoping S3 of Mando will bring back some of my enthusiasm for Star Wars again.

I wonder if I should catch the live S3 premiere tomorrow morning
LOL am wondering if I should do the no sleep thing. Probably, 'coz I'm weak.

It's like it's harder to get hyped up after the llllllooooonnngggg delay. Spent time forgetting about the show 'coz S3 was taking forever.

"Grogu was with Luke for two years before being reunited with Din Djarin"

Ok, he can say that, it certainly was not conveyed.
So two years training, I take it, he might have some surprising new well honed force abilities then.

Also I don't know when Disney conituity Luke suposedly started training Kylo, but Grogu likely sensed I better get the frog away from this evil mf, before he kills everyone. :wink1:

Bah. Disney shill. He just hand-waved it because he can. Based on what I saw, I don't buy it. I'm not gonna lose any sleep over it, but still.

*goes off to yell at clouds*

So Mando just wandered around taking the bus for two whole years? Come on.....

OK, I just listened to the interview clip myself and the way I heard it was Favreau saying for the AUDIENCE, we haven't seen him for two years. I think someone misinterpreted what he said and made a clickbaity post.

Or, I just didn't listen long enough and he does clarify it. Don't know. I'll listen to more of it now.

A third season is usually a saturation point in a tv series …it could be a good part of a series or it’s downfall …most series don’t make it that far…so hopefully Favreau keeps the magic going for this franchise
