S3 EP3 - Beautiful looking episode from start to finish. Loved seeing Coruscant up close like that.

The whole story departure reminded me of something that would have been in the book “From a Certain Point of View”. I loved it. I’d take a whole series with that tone and look.

I find it cute that some of you think just because there's less Mando on the show is due to Pedro filming TLOU, you do know that his 2 stunt doubles are the main ones doing the action and Pedro is mainly doing the dialogue that he can do infront of a microphone anywhere.
I was thinking that, he isn't even the one doing any of the physical scenes haha.

Still though, I'm sure recording dialogue takes a while, so maybe there was some interference with other projects. But it's certainly not the amount of time physically shooting a scene would take.

She’s going to use them to achieve her own goals, as she always does.

If the themes continue to follow Lone Wolf And Cub ( i.e. the core elements lifted from Kazuo Koike), then odds are that Bo Katan will challenge Mando for the Dark Saber, but also sabotage the internals of the saber itself to guarantee that he loses.

The fall of Mandalore is supposed to mirror the fall of the samurai culture.

Bo Katan is supposed to mirror the children of the legacy Retsudo clan leader in LW&C.

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Bo Katan eventually cuts a deal with Moff Gideon. The story seems to be heading that way.

This has been standard since time began. If you are a star and you are wearing a full mask or helmet it is not you it’s a photo double and/or a stunt double (or a CG double!). The only exception I can think of was Urban in Dredd and well I don’t need to say anymore about that :)

While I actually like the direction that would take, and I'm strongly in favor of something with some weight and betrayal in it... I really don't think we're going to get anything as well nuanced as that.

To me it feels more like Bo Katan is going to see about taming that Mythosaur so she can be leader and then bring the clan to Mandalore. With the subplot with short hair 'New Republic' spy woman as an agent of Moff Gideon who will bring him back into the fold as the main bad guy.

Fantastic!

Two episodes in and for whatever reason I am enjoying this season immensely.

I think it was all the cool creature designs. Loved that one eyed robotic creature.

IMO things have felt more like SW in this season. Great creature designs are helping a lot.

On to episode 3

I think you're reading waaay too much into the Lone Wolf and Cub connection.

Other than the visuals of the samurai pushing the baby cart, there's nothing in this that actually matched the STORY. It's just a visual homage. Bo-Katan certainly isn't meant to be a stand in for Retsudo or his clan. There's no guarantee the creators have even read the manga or seen the movies other than comic book covers or movie posters.

My kids loved the big dude on the train in episode 3 who did nothing but grunt

The Coruscant intrigue actually wasn’t bad sure it was a few layers below Andor writing but only a few and I quite liked the double-triple agent turn that was cool!

The reason there was no security on their mission was because it was a set up to get him to the decommissioned star destroyer and that included the robot security going slow.

I don’t know if I buy their jump off the train though but whatever.

I’m also liking Bo’s travels and i’m enjoying all the shifting alliances so far.

What did bug me were the 750 shots fired by the tie fighters from Thrawn’s fleet that ALL MISSED like literally ALL MISSED FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! :slap

I’m just going to wave that off that it was a distraction to keep them away from the castle so that the bombers could destroy it.

I really REALLY need that to be the case lol
They knocked out her shields eventually.

Ties always have trouble with ships the main characters fly in :lol

I just want to complete my evil research...

Maybe he should make himself some new eyes.

Season 1 - near-perfect set-up: callous hunter must care for his prey
Season 2 - following immense ramifications of his "child"
Season 3 - ep1 = BOBF, ep2 = lesser S1 or S2 ep, ep3 = 70% Andor

This is not the way.
I prefer this seasons first 3 to season 1st first 3. Season 1 overall was a huge letdown for me. I’m hoping to enjoy it more on a rewatch now that I like the characters more

Have no idea why you would compare episode 1 to BOBF. Only certain episodes of the Obi wan series should be compared to BOBF lol

Episode 3 was cool cause it looks like they are starting to expand the universe.

I know peeps hate the ST and I’m not the biggest fan but some good shows would help those set of moves like Clone Wars did for the PT

Wow, the first few eps of Mando S1 are someof the few modern SW releases that I think comes close to the OT. The client, the early stuff with baby yoda, the tease of more mysterious mandos out there.
I think one of the OT's great strengths was everything it didn't tell you. Lucas himself sold out his own mystique when he started going into great detail about things better left to the imagination or at least a truly competent writer. But I do appreciate that it's been a fun ride over the years or I wouldn't be talking about it now.
