The Pirate King is one of the most ridiculous designs I've ever seen in SW. All I could think of was Pizza the Hutt. Maybe this is his vegan brother, Salad the Hutt.

I get a real Clone Wars vibe from that character design. Not a fan of it.

I did really enjoy this episode, had a lot of the elements I like to see from this show.

The Armorer finally realising there’s more than one way to be a Mandalorian, and that people can share different beliefs whilst fighting for the same cause is a big development for her character.

The Armorer and Bo both have flexible ideologies when it comes to advancing their agendas.

I remain of two minds. The episode entertained me, so it succeeds. Quality is somewhere between Xena: Warrior Princess and a cartoon. Which is fine, not everything can be 'Andor'. The writing is still reeeallly sloppy though. They're advancing the plot which I appreciate and it has its moments, but most of the time they still have the good crayons out.

This does kinda double down on the cynicism of the ST: all of that sacrifice and heroism, only to replace the Empire with an incompetent and blandly evil bureaucracy that has its head so far up its own orifice they're good with peppering their logistical machinery with former Imperials and letting people die because they didn't fill out their tax forms. Yeah, these idiots had it coming.

IMO the details of the script were trope cringe - like a feel good cartoon - tho I appreciate the narrative leading from A to B to C. This felt like a Filoni Rebels script to me.

*Realistically* tho the New Republic reminds me of feel good governments who wanna be too nice while the treasury is embezzled. Tho I wince thinking that in theory where was Leia and co. off messing about with Han or what.

For me tho watching the N1 like a dragonfly remains a thing of beauty, great explosion at the end, great visuals, and nothing wrong with watching Mandalorians bust some heads. I also appreciate there are 1 or 2 female Mandalorians without the show making a big deal about it. And I'll probably hafta pick up Paz at some point now $$$$$

If I strain myself, I could fill in that the Armorer decided now that they have a home base,
time to ditch worrying about the Creed. A lot of the writing to me felt shallow/cartoony.
Guess someone is on a schedule and needs to move things along.

But I'd watch again.

Politics are a no-go on the forum but reminds me of governments that are too nice and the whole thing backfires. Where are all the savvy politicians - or maybe the Empire wiped them all out.

There are times I really, really miss the Client.

think it will be hilarious if Bo and Din never fight over the Darksaber at all, and he just ends up being sort of First Knight or the Fist of the Queen etc. So much for all that tension. They seem to be buddies at this point - which I am fine with, actually. In the end it would give Mando a reason and an out, to wander off into the sunset, Western style.

I certainly won't watch it again but it was better than the tragic previous episodes. The writing and dialogue was still dreadful, at least bits and pieces of action were OK and the last part with the derelict shuttle was interesting apart from the woeful dialogue again. And where were Grogu and the 3 big turkeys....did I miss something?

Also, the guy from one of the cartoons I never watched but was based on the original designs for Chewie.....was that some of the worst 1995-level CGI you've seen in years or what? Almost Roger Rabbit level of cartoon and live action.

I don’t think the writing in this season is anywhere as good as Rebels. It feels more like Ewoks / Droids level quality.

But it was great to see Zeb, and see him so well done and not at all pointed out like everything else in this show.

in Mando's lap while he was engaging in a life-threatening dogfight to the death with multiple opponents while engaging a battle cruiser. This is clearly why Mandalorians don't go live in New Republic territory -- child services would be all over these lunatics.
