The chase scene reminded me of the first episode of the Dirty Pair OVAs, except the OVA was fun.

I'll say one thing - very savvy marketing from Disney to make sure this episode came out on this specific day, considering the guest star.

WAS THAT LIZZO?!!! WAS IT REALLY LIZZO? WTF

My Kindle cut out halfway through this episode, so I will finish later today. But I felt nothing so much as that I had been ushered into Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory. There was the same wackadoodle campiness. There were the same Oompa-Loompas toiling in their factory.

I felt sorry for Bo and Din.

The one good thing so far is that my boy Axe is leading his own ship as he deserved to do.

MY GODS WHO GREENLIT THIS?!

Disney, probably, desperately trying to rope in a younger audience to boost the stock price, while giving a finger to any loyal fans. Same as the MCU treatment. Maybe explains why this feels like a cartoon.

I'm off to cancel my D+ subscription. Again.

This is when I proudly proclaim that I've never paid one bloody cent for Disney Plus, and I've watched all of their SW content anyway. Well, except for this episode which got sent to the recycle bin about 30 seconds after I saw JB and Lizzo.

At least she had the decency to cover up her *** this time.

Can we rename the thread BOBF season 2?

Yes. Yes we can. This program is almost as bad as BOBF. Almost.

I was willing to give S3 a decent shot even though it started off pretty lousy.

Well, it blew it.

I once again have to prune certain elements of my head canon.

Only Mando S1-S2 exist for me. Din's story ended when Luke took Grogu. Fett's story ended with him sitting on Jabba's throne. I suppose if I'm feeling sentimental, I can include the end where Din and Grogu blast off in their new hot rod starship looking for adventure.

This trash of a season is all worthless. Just a waste of time. It's not even FUN to watch. It's more of a chore than being enjoyable.

They brought back Koska and she just stood there saying nothing, and doing nothing. Are we sure she was even there? Maybe they just cut and pasted her from footage from season two. What a waste. And was Axe even played by the same actor? He's such a nobody I don't even remember, and I can't be bothered to look it up.

Barf.

Mando should have taken a cue from George Costanza and known when to leave on a high note.

I don't get all the hate for this episode. I rather liked it. Some nice worldbuilding, lots of awesome droids and to me it didn't feel as much as filler as other episodes did.

I won't be quitting on this show, but I am leaving and unsubscribing from this thread. Way too much negativity for me.

Bye :wave

I cannot square what could be, with what is. In my head vs onscreen, that is.

Having read so many comics and novels, I along with most of you well know the savagery which this universe is capable of. The high drama, the high tragedy, the sacrifice, the bare-knuckle fights, the intrigue and the betrayals. The pull of the Light. Redemption. The power of Love.

We know what Mandos can do, and what they're capable of. None of that is here. NOOOOOONE

And now we have this. You -talk- about betrayal. Had Grogu stayed gone, we could have had a most compelling Mandalore arc. As it is my head-canon is going to end with Mando handing the Groginator off to Luke.

✨ Looking forward to The Bad Batch season 3. ✨

Say what you want, TBB has way more emotional impact than this **** does.

W T F !?!

As has been mentioned, the bottom line here is...this has become nothing more than a committee-controlled (likely that insipid, laughable "story" group) product masquerading as a kids show. It looked great production-wise, but the content was truly awful. The show is barely a shadow of what it was. Nothing more than big "clip" fare featuring familiar, comfortable sites spooned over the now-usual mandated format. Men are emasculated, adorable toy shelf inventory front and center featuring new accessories to freshen the product ("knighted" Grogu, annyone?) and storytelling with the depth of a TV guide description. Throw in even more painful, distracting cameos with hip personalities, former "A" talent and of course, a genre legend who's part reduces him to an embarrassment and BAM! It's the now-standard formula for Disney Star Wars! My neck and shoulders are aching from all of the CRINGE in this episode!

Doe Fav really write this stuff? The story concept or first draft maybe, but then it goes through this debacle's "production process" to end up being the dreck we are seeing this season. Is their anyone who is not seeing that Fav is just another modern hack that landed a good, profitable gig with an established franchise that is just collecting the check? I'm seeing no more of the "Iron Man" or Mando Season 1 guy here...just the one who took animated classics and turned them into live-action soulless garbage that convinced the higher-ups he knows how to say "yes" and pump out the product. Is Bad Robot hiring?

Trying to be a fan of SW is like standing across the street watching a house fire at this point...the house burns down while these people are partying inside convincing themselves what creative legends they are. Kids, you were using coloring books created by other people and you're going WAY outside the lines now.

Please oh please, let us have a good final season of Andor, untouched by this group of stooges. Then I can call of the day on Star Wars like I already have for Marvel...

I wonder how much story material was scrapped/changed for this season after Carano was fired and the Rangers show got cancelled. Would not be surprised if this disjointed mess is partially the result of extensive rewrites.

Carano was a side character and not even a compelling one, she had zero chemistry with Din - her departure into Wild Space is in no way responsible for the kids-hour mess we see before our eyes today.

Otimofan - yes that was Koska and she had plenty new purpose and material. She was watching over the fight on the grass and she was the one who apprehended the love-struck Nadhar Vebb.

I thought the Grogu getting knighted by that lady scene was a lovely nod to Jaime Lannister knighting Brienne. We’ve had this AND 3 baby dragons to enjoy.

Wow. I haven’t seen this many cameos in a Star Wars project since The Holiday Special!

Well, I have said that if The Mandalorian’s quality goes south, we’ll always have seasons 1 - 2.

A big chunk of this season seems like it belongs in a Tales from the New Republic show. Really weird production decisions; feels like half of it should’ve come out under a different name a year ago.

I don’t actively hate anything - don’t have the energy to hate - but the pacing is just unacceptable. We only have a few episodes left and it feels like what should be the core of the show has been told through 5 minute stingers only.

I still believe the finale will have a lot of cool elements, but it’s going to feel unearned now because we’ve spent so much time doing nothing leading up to it.

My Kindle cut out halfway through this episode, so I will finish later today.

The biggest revelation of this past episode for me (since the episode didn't do much) is that Ramatuelle watches The Mandalorian on a Kindle.

I realized they make regular tablets but it was funny for a second imagining the show somehow running on one of those black and white paper Kindles. :lol

I did think that was odd. Yes they were both back and I was glad to see Koska. But it was disappointing she didn’t have more of a role.

It was really weird they just kept cutting back to her reaction during the Bo/Axe duel. It was distracting and just felt like they didn’t have anything else for her to do.

If we have nods to GoT this season then why not something like THIS!!! Well within the potential capability of a Dark-side Force user.

I keep waiting for something like this and I get a chocolate factory. SMDH

Its a big Kindle. I dont even know if they still make those Black and White Kindles anymore. Same thing as if I was watching on an ipad, people do that all the time.

This way I can avoid my husband's continual interruptions and distractions while I try to watch. Been doing this since the night he made "Rogue One" all but impossible to watch.

Well I was absolutely expecting to be on the nit-picking bandwagon after hearing that Lizzo was in this weeks episode. Visions of corpulent twerking had filled my head!

Happily the episode turned out to be an extremely fun and quirky episode, although sadly Lizzo's acting range is somewhat limited.

I have to give a shout out to the practical effects on the Ugnauts, exceptional stuff.

They do, and I thought of the paper readers rather than the tablets when I saw Kindle so it was funny imagining the show sketched out in black and white like scrimshaw which is what initially popped into my head.

Might honestly make the season more palatable for some. :lol

Sounds like there’s a funny story there about the Rogue One incident.

I skimmed through to see if I missed anything after I turned it off in disgust a few minutes in.

I don't think so.

Doc Brown was in it, but what he was doing, I don't know or care.

I also saw Din and Bo (Dinbo?) goofing around with a fat lesbian woman for some reason.

Star Wars has come a long way as far as diversity and inclusion since the first movie had an all-white and 98% male cast. And for decades, the only gay character was C-3PO. Now we're getting lesbians in every other episode.

Never thought the GOT reference was literal; just someone saying multiple arcs would be going on at the same time.
And I luv and miss the gawdess Carano, who was completely believable in a fight scene. What I saw looked a bit too pull-the-punches. Not horrible, but not great.
My head canon may end up with Grogu returned to Mando, and Mando pressing the button. Father and son off to new adventures. The End.

Although I'm not throwing in the towel, and there was some good stuff IMO like the interactions with Bo and Din. But it's kinda hard when you've been an uber-fan and now, I'm kinda like, so what *&^%$ did they come up with this week. :monkey2
