Not sure what I'm looking at exactly but I like it. The Iron Man collection is quite impressive, much as I resent HT's fixation with it.

Basically I took 2 Detolfs and placed them Horizontally. Then I carefully started to un bolt them and removed the back glass from the detolf in the front. This gives me a Breadbox style front glass door with 32 inches of depth. Once I got the HOA I needed more depth. I then Removed the Rear glass of the detolf in the far back, and placed it on the Top of my HOA. So I have a very Large Glass Breadbox for 120.00.

A-Dev I'm diversified too:

1/4 Scale collection by matrix0fleadership, on Flickr

Not as fun as my Iron man HOA workshop, but 1/4 is HUGE

Well done, seems to suit quite well for Tony's workshop with everything in it.

Thanks... I have not built a 1/4 display yet so for now they are just in the Vertical Detolfs.

If you resent the members of this forum so much why are you here?

Record for the most locked threads?
Along with this, why do you put people on ignore if you claim to have dealt with confrontations on a daily basis? Especially when you already ignored those people already without the ignore list?

And Lotus, great pictures. Love what you've done :clap

BobaDebt is definitely entertaining if nothing else.

This keyboard warrior stuff is great. But since you are posting pics of your house and cars, I am deducting that unless you are a Jed clampet with mineral rights you are not rolling in it, you make a living with your hands. Most collectors here are young, single incomes. To trash them because they value having more Figures than display space is ridiculous and really is small minded. To spend $1200 on a display is not good financial sense for most people on here. At least with purchasing these hot toy collections a person can liquidate them quickly and not lose that much money.... if any. Try getting rid of a giant wood/ metal/ glass built in display case, not that easy.

I'm not going to post pics of my house, cars, and other ****, but I am about a 1.5%er, no debt and avg about a hot toy a week for a budget. I use detolfs. I use them because they allow me to see the figures from every angle and keep dust out. My cases very nicely lined up and have frames around the tops and bottom to make it look more "expensive". I do this because the glass and build are suitable for what I want in a display.

I also finished my own basement and added 150k of value investing 30k to build it, was brought up blue collar and know many trades and had every damn Kenner Star Wars, gi joe and transformer made from 1979- 1987. I have good values from a working home, but got smart and work with my mind and not my hands now and it has paid off for me, very well.

Bottom line is please don't preach to the people on here how to collect and display their possessions because everyone from the college kid to the 1%ers have their own way of collecting and displaying it the way they choose. That's what makes this place fun. We get to see from others collections what works for our own needs and what doesn't.

Its hard to believe that so much has come from a single opinion.

I must have really hit a nerve.

A few issues I'd take with this, hokie.

1. Guy is a former-Marine, so the term "keyboard warrior" doesn't really fit. Also, kind of surprised at the lack of respect a vet is getting. I'm Canadian and wouldn't talk dismissively to any vet from really any country.

2. I definitely didn't get the impression that Boba was posting pics of his house, etc., because he was being a braggart (in a way that your post is coming across, a little). He was questioned on whether he was talking about his wife or mother and decided to meet that comment by posting some pics. Again, I can't believe people would talk to a vet that way. Really shows no class.

3. If we take him at his word, he works on helicopters 7 days a week, so he's hardly the unskilled labourer working with his hands that you're making him out to be. Great that you're working an intellectually stimulating job and being paid well for it, but the world would be pretty messed if that was everyone's aspiration. Regardless, working on choppers is highly skilled work, so I'm guessing he's also well paid. Running him down if he isn't making your kind of money seems petty, either way.

No need to reply to Hokie since Invictus did such a good job say what I wanted to say

B/c it's clear he can't justify his behavior and lack of respect for everyone here. It's much easier to put people who challenge him on ignore.

Gotta give respect to earn respect regardless of profession and this dude has done nothing but insult the community and a generation as a whole.

Its hard to believe that so much has come from a single opinion. I must have really hit a nerve.
Jerks typically get a reaction when they insult people, not much to be proud of.

Basically yeah. I respect veterans too, my great-uncle being one, but if they're being rude and disrespectful then I don't really give it. Plus most veterans I know don't like to be treated above everyone else.

Hmmm.. have to say Boba, just because a few peeps have yanked your chain, is not a good reason to start attacking everyone with Detolfs or who hangs out at this forum with sweeping generalities.. collateral damage much?

I have also been hanging out on the interwebz a very long time and ALL forums suffer from group think to a greater or lesser extent, not least because they all have a focus of some kind or another.. and not just web forums, it seems to be encoded in the DNA of H. sapiens generally (probably has an evolutionary benefit).. Most collectors forums have lots of posts expressing excitement about new products as well.. If you start telling everyone else on a long-standing forum what they should post and how it should be run, soon after starting to post on that forum (whatever your rep on a different forum), you are going to draw a lot of flak.. not just here, but anywhere.

Re: The Most Awesome 1/6 HOA Concept EVER

“sophomoric” great word use. It fits so many members here. If you don’t mind the fodder this place has a ton of info.

I actually can describe the general feeling of most of the threads I read about a new release thread with 6 statements

1. It costs too much
2. The sculpt it all wrong
3. Pass, not enough accessories

This normally accounts for about 2000 posts over a few months

Then someone posts in hand pictures and you get this

4. Wow, that awesome, I just bought one
5. I got my “we will be charge your account soon notice” I better sell my last figure so I can pay for this one
6. Yay, they charged my account
7. Did anyone get a shipping notice
8. Yay I got a shipping notice
9. This is taking FOR EVER
10. Yay, I got my figure check it out (insert pic of new figure on Detolf shelf with 4 other variations of the same figure)

That all works out to about 4000 post.

I have found that if I start at the back few pages I actually get to see the when the adults post

:exactly::goodpost:

Thread was locked earlier :dunno

Anyway, he attacked everyone with a Detolf the minute he arrived.
Calling a Show Your Shelves thread 'Collection Not In A Detolf' and commenting that everyones collections look the same is a great way to integrate with a collecting community :slap
