Yea funny but true enough of an analogy. I just wonder how true the defects are...number wise. Is it exaggereated with just a few have defects or mostly true where all we see is defects left and right. I am sure the eggshell is true enough but it is bonded to other materials, no? The price is truely a pain in the wallet but if they increase the thickness of this IM, I am sure it will cost alot more for shipment too. All-in-all, the eggshell looks scary.

Congrats. CR. I did ordered my through Sideshow distributor. No deposit require also.

The Ironman life size bust created so many bitter collectors, so they have to take on this piece. As far as i concern Sideshow did deal with these issues.

It makes it a little bit easier when you can make the decision before shelling out all your money and then going through the returns process. I am now in 2 minds whether or not to get this as it has had a lot of bad press and it is a risky investment. I am sure that will change when I go to pick it up.

I think if you want to ruin it for a few go right ahead. I am enjoying my statue and I have now moved it to every freaking room in the house. Its as solid as anything I have and if it is in case a test it has passed it with flying colors and then some!

I think those of you who dont get this will regret it! And for you INFECDEAD, just dont bother buying this....and save me the time and effort of posting more comments.

I agree. I think they are entertaining and I watched them more than once.
I just feel like Marvel has so much more in the works as far as IM goes. The IM 2 this year, Avengers coming in the next year, with IM being one of the main 3 stars. As a kid I read IM comics and its just a dream to see these 1:1 and 1:2 statues come to life. Also, they are not as scary to display in the main rooms in the house as lets say PredAlien so once more IM wins in that way.

Marvel and Disney have so much more potential. Only time will tell.
Also, I hope they do come up with better AVP movies, I would be first in line to go see them.

So you own it? If I were you and was so angry at Sideshow I would have returned it by now! Why in the world would you want to keep it for 2K if you are so upset about being a test subject?
I am not sure about your form of payment. But if its a CC you can always contest it.

I bet you if we go around and brake open our statues from Sideshow, not all, but most are going to be the same way. This is just not nice to ruin the fun for those that are happy with the statue.

I think he was kidding bro, INFECDEAD posted one of the best IM reviews at the start of this thread with pics showcasing both the pros and cons of the piece. His arrived intact in Australia. I think he was jokin'.

I think you could be right about some of those statues if we crack them open. I've noticed a disturbing tendency for some lighter versions recently, but older stuff like the hulk PF are really solid heavy polystone. I guess they didn't find that kind of quality commercially viable for the long run to ship/produce (look how light abomination is comparatively).

The AVP movies are worse the IM movies but as value goes, AVP is almost an a investment, although I do not collect for investment....

Just check out all the 1/6 HT pieces, they are almost untouchable to most 1/6 collectors.

I'll reserve judgment on IM 2 until I see the movie, hopefully it can up IM 1 but I've gotta say it will be hard.

Umm...........the fact that the Predalien will be worth more than this has absolutely nothing to do with whether AVP-R was a crappy movie or not. The quality and craftmanship of that piece is just amazing. I think it has more presence than this IM piece, and nobody is doubting the quality of it. The Predalien piece is just so amazing too look at, that it will appeal to monster lovers, not just Alien or Predator lovers. IM on the other hand..........a piece like this is only something IM lovers would want,not too many people are even going to be willing to pay retail for this, and an open ES doesnt fair too well either.
