So I finally got him and wow this guy is big! detailed and amazing. It felt like this guy was solid and not hollow like some say. I was filled with euphoria until I found a problem with him. Only problem was his arm was broken off when I got him :( I was hoping he didnt come damaged but having my luck it happened. have to wait and get a replacement now. I know the guys at Secret Compass will take care of me though. Anyways, here are some pics of the arm-

Hey T3xrr, mine arrived broken in the same place when I got it way back when it came out. Secret Compass should take care of you.

Hope you get a quick replacement soon!

Thanks guys for the support. I have all faith that Secret Compass will come through for me. It just bites I gotta wait for a new one and re pack this piece all over. It is really a stunning piece in person that makes an immediate statement when viewed. I wish Sideshow could do a better packing job with the arms because it feels like they are hanging creating stress at the deltoid where mine was broken. I'm not gonna give up on this piece and I really think its awesome in so many ways.

Was this a common break point? I know a few mentioned a similar break. One day, I'm hoping to get one, but a little worried about transit.

Seems like it from the past experience of some board members. The legs feel solid but the upper arms I guess are weak points. Its def a great piece though.

Good to know. Well, congrats on the acquisition (despite the break.) I'm sure the replacement will be well worth the wait. :rock

Hi Chap!

Even though this was a common break point, I don't believe the arms were weak at all!

Here are my thoughts on it from three I had delivered to me from SS:

Most were broken because the base was initially packed with the statue. This is fine if when shipping the box doesn't get dropped or pushed around (which we all know it does). If the box hits a certain angle when pushed or dropped with base packed with the statue, the force bends the box and a stiff statue at the point and the break occurs. It is a certain drop, push, or other boxes stacked at a specific angle that puts the enormous pressure at that point to cause the clean break.

Once SS began shipping the base as a separate box, this stopped most of the breaks immediately.

Then SS began shipping these on a pallet. So the statue box was wrapped around a wooden pallet, with the base box beside it. Obviously, that almost guaranteed no breaks.

Now, I did notice something that may be different in the construction of T3Xrr's latest IM compared to the first one I received and posted on page 2 of this thread.

Look at T3xrr's IM right arm ... it looks like it was filled with something. Or was that just styrofoam after the fact?

Mine, if I remember correctly, I thought was hollow at the arm joint. I have to check to see if I have some other pics to confirm this to be true or not.

It def is not styrofoam. Its solid and it feels like polystone to me but I could be wrong

Don't forget about Alter Ego. It's a little bit cheaper and it drop ships from SS. For us in CA we save tax and minimize the chances of it arriving damaged :yess:

^^^Just did....no broken arm......but does yours have does messy black lines in the torso etc.?

How messy?
Yes those are grease marks from the armor.
Its suppose to be this way, however it should not be excessive.
