Re: Premium Format Rocketeer

I think the same about Robert Downey, Jr. sometimes - his shoulders are TINY.

Blasphemy.

An interchangeable left hand w/helmet would've been perfect.

^^^^ yeah it would have been.

But the left hand in the Fonzie "heyyyy" pose is so perfect...

:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

I actually see myself displaying the unmasked version and putting the helmet either on the base or right next to him.

Here is the thing, I thought about that too because it works a bit with the modern Iron Man Red/Gold Comiquette. From certain angles you don't even see the pole. The Rocketeer though has a firm jawline which means that is the seamline. Cliff wouldn't obviously need the chin strap but its visible on the helmeted sculpt which means the helmeted sculpt has chin with said strap sticking out. That will look fairly strange on display in any capacity next to Cliff because you'd see the chin in 90% of the options you'd have except in maybe the fin forward positioning.

That is why I'm going regular, I could never really see myself using the non-helmeted so why pay the higher price plus taxes and shipping. Kudos though to those who want it.

I don't think I'd pose this one with the EX head--the helmet is just too iconic.

and recognizable. With the helmet its The Rocketeer. Without it for a lot of general folks walking through wouldn't know it as anything but just a guy with a jetpack and gun if they didn't spot the large name lettering on the base. Rocketeer is iconic, cult followed and amazing. Cliff Seacord...well.....he isn't that recognizable in all reality.

Re: Premium Format Rocketeer

I want it.

Superb Trevor Grove BC Sculpt. Best ever in fact.

Re: Premium Format Rocketeer

Looks just like Bill Campbell :). Wow well Done Sideshow, def think this is gonna be a sure fav among us collectors. *just hope my sideshow distributor gets them in :)

Re: Premium Format Rocketeer

ordered, I think it looks awesome. I got the ex. but I also don't think I will ever display him without his helmet so we'll see.

I'm surprised to see him still in stock.

Re: Premium Format Rocketeer

The Rocketeer, or Cliff, was among my first crushes along with Willy Wonka and Cornelius, so I'm very familiar with what he looks like, and that ain't Bill Campbell. That's like, a caricature of him.

I'd get the regular one if it had a flag behind him, as it's clearly the iconic image of him on the rooftop of that building before he takes off for the zeppelin.

Re: Premium Format Rocketeer

great job, sideshow! finally, u guys have really nailed a PF.

after a string of lacklustre products lately, incl the rather terrible rambo pf, i was beginning to think sideshow doesn't care about producing good work any more.

so it's nice to see something like this which proves how great they can be.

the bill campbell headsculpt is pretty accurate, the paint app looks good, the pose is quite iconic, the helmet and costume are also well made. and the base is a nice touch too, very evocative of the art deco style of the movie poster.

but i won't pre-order this just yet. i'll take a chance and wait til production pieces are in store, so i can judge in person how it turns out...

Re: Premium Format Rocketeer

Looks like around 20 left. If you were on the fence you better jump now!

Re: Premium Format Rocketeer

I've never seen the film but the quality of this PF made me buy the dvd. Congrats to all the fans, this is a truly spectacular PF :rock

:lecture :lecture :lecture :lecture

It really is a perfect encapsulation of how hit or miss Sideshow can be at times.

HAHA! Seems to me they're ALWAYS hit when it comes to sculpts by the incomparable TREVOR GROVE!!! :rock :rock :rock

Glad I pre-ordered the Exclusive, this switch out head is a TOTAL MUST-HAVE!!! I really hope the helmet can come off the neck stump on the helmeted head too...it'd be cool to display the helmet at his feet when the heads are switched out...or if he could somehow hold it in his arm, but the 'thumbs-up' arm doesn't look like it would be able to hold anything...so maybe at the feet would work better. Either way, it's a KILLER PF!!!

Re: Premium Format Rocketeer

ordered! one of my favorite movies/characters. placed my order for the exclusive but i don't think i would ever display him without the helmet.

Hmmm, now where do I remember that being said before, except instead of 'helmet', it was 'hat'...

:D

Re: Premium Format Rocketeer

SOLD OUT.

Not bad, about 14 hrs and change for a 340 item...

So, does anyone know the Ex ES?

Re: Premium Format Rocketeer

I was just reading some of the comments that since this isn't really a big main stream character and its pretty expensive I just figured a low ES but we'll see. Guessing the ES has become part of the fun.

Re: Premium Format Rocketeer

I'm guessing 350. The Rocketeer is a cult character in all status even amongst Disneyana folks and hasn't really received a huge push by any means in any medium for a while. Considering how focused this offering is, I don't see them making that many.
