I was at Disney California Adventure yesterday and they have this mannequin in one of their shops.

Also poking around, one of the store fronts has "fake" mailboxes. This name was on one of them:

Hrm. Not sure if those were leftover costumes from The Rocketeer in the Disney archives/ costume shops or now. The mailbox tag is also coincidental. Maybe someone there is a Rocketeer fan.

Oh cruel world! One of Joe Johnston's Rocketeer production clappers is up for auction. If I wasn't on a wedding budget I'd seriously pay out for this. Alas, I shall watch it and watch it pass by.

I saw that, and was tempted to hit the "Watch" button. But for my own financial good, I knew I need to just let that prize go into the ether.

I finally got the PF displayed, and it looks awesome. The only downside is it taking up an awkward 1.3ish shelves' worth of height in the Detolf, but I can't be bothered to start tweaking the shelves to be different heights.

The Rocketeer production clapper is up to $900 today. Woo!

Finally was able to track down a Bulldog Cafe pin at a very good price. Been hard to find one from someone who wasn't charging a premium.

Hmmmm there was nothing at Comic Con this year about the Captain Action/ Rocketeer set coming out hopefully this year or next. No news at all.

I have friends who are poopooing the reboot idea, but me, I welcome it. Whenever a property gets rebooted, usually people start paying more attention to the original. And on occasion, new retro merchandise comes out in addition to the new stuff.

Of course it doesn't happen all the time, but I think if it's Disney, the chances are higher. So.. bring it on! I hope it's good and I hope more importantly, that it's a success. The latter being the most difficult to predict.

I think in today's hero-charged cinemasphere that as long as the movie is solid, it will do quite well.

I just hope they don't tinker with the costume/rocket design very much (if at all) as they are both absolutely perfect as is.

All the haters can go take a long walk off a short pier as far as I'm concerned. I'm excited to see where this might go! :yess:

I agree 100%, MM! :lecture Don't mess with what isn't broken!

Was able to get my ACME Rocketeer print signed by artist Brian Rood at Celebration 6 this last weekend. It didn't come signed and now looks great!

Picked up the new Cargo of Doom comic -can't wait to read it!

Not too much else going on in Rocketeer news. My search for more pins goes on. Disney is apparently meeting to discuss a reboot of the series -which is interesting.

Spotted someone dressed as the Rocketeer at DragonCon, so I snapped a quick pic. Sadly, I didn't come across any kind of Rocketeer merchandise at the show.

Aww that sucks! Rocketeer stuff is really hard to find at shows. That costume looks awesome! He did a good job putting that together.

There's a new retailer incentive pin that IDW released, but is only available from people hawking theirs online.

I have a feeling it would change which is unfortunate. :( But I would still love to see a reboot non the less.

Why would anyone care if they remake it? I'll keep it simple-If it turns out good, great go watch it. I fit stinks don't see it. I would love to see it redone but I'm not vested if it turns out like crap. I don't lose anything.

I don't have a clue.
