The wait as mentioned but also this board now is built on mostly comic book fan first. If this was 9 years ago when it was more a LOTR board the poll would be different. I'm excited for many films but none compare to see The Hobbit part 1 on screen.

It is very cool to see that Samwise Gamgee's dad will make an appearance. But I think they could have spent a little more on his costume.

Even though lotr is my favorite, but The Avengers is definitely most anticipated movie for me this year, sorry to say it. It has to do with the fact it seemed an impossibility such a movie would be made with all those super heroes, and how they introduced each hero with their own movies etc.. it's just something too big to dream as a kid and unbelievable they are actually making the movie...and it looks to be good quality!

If this was the original lotr premiere it will be close, but with 3 classics behind us, the excitement just cant be on the same level as the avengers Dont get me wrong, it's still highly anticipated cant wait to see movie...but THE AVENGERS!!!!

The Avengers will be a fantastic film I am excited to see it. They've done a great job of setting everything up and appear to have put it all together. However, my excitement for The Hobbit kicks the ____ out of my excitement for The Avengers. I've been dreaming of this film coming out for at least 10 years.

The Hobbit - 32 years of anticipation

The Avengers - 3 or 4 years of anticipation.

Anyone know if Sylvester McCoy will appear in the theatrical cut of if they'll leave him for the SE? Yeah, I know, probably too early for news like that.

Can't wait for this film. Despite the many changes, I did enjoy the LOTR films and think Jackson will do a good job again.
