Ellen sucks. Her jokes are nothing but bombs. This last bit I was hoping that Clint Eastwood would pull out his .44 Magnum and blow her head clean off.

I would pay damn good money to see that!!

I don't think so. I think lately even if a film wins an award they don't really care. They don't even put it on the packaging that they won some awards.

But at least Pan's Labyrinth has 3 so far.

Glad to hear that, I just tuned in to see that it did not win Best Foreign Language film and was pretty ticked off about it. In fact, I'm not sure I'm going to bother watching the rest of it.

And so The Departed wins best picture and director. Oh well...

Deservedly so. Finally a movie I actually liked wins an award.........and Scorcese was about 20 years overdue for Best Director.

Yeah, I didn't get that either! How could it win some pretty big other awards and not win best foreign film. It was nominated almost as much as Dreamgirls. Very strange.

Martin finally won! Hillarious about George Lucas though :lol I imagine if he doesn't do anything else he'll get an honorary oscar. He should win an oscar for editing ANH a billion times :rotfl

I think this was one of the best Oscars in years. Pan's Labryinth not winning Best Foreign film was suprising, but at the same time it won other awards. What I was suprised about was Best Song. TELL me that wasn't political (and yes I know the Oscars are political). Overall though I was pleased with who won. No huge upsets really.

And kudos to Marty. Bout damn time.

I thought Ellen was okay, but I would have preferred Stewart. It was kind of a boring show.

George, Francis and Steven presenting to Marty was probably the highlight.

I agree...it made me a little teary....

It was for me. It's amazing what those four did to movie making. It was great to see them all together on stage like that.

And I was really happy Scorsese won, but who didn't think he was going to win when the other three came out to present? I'm sure the other four nominees knew they were out of luck.

It was great to see Alan Arkin win, too.

Yeah, they pretty much telegraphed it was going to Marty by having those three present the award together. If it had gone to someone else, I probably would've fallen off my couch.

I thought "The Devil Wears Prada" was going to win for best costumes when the two actresses from the movie came out to present the award. But it lost.
