The first image from director Derek Cianfrance’s crime drama The Place Beyond the Pines have been unveiled, giving us our first look at star Ryan Gosling in character. The film centers on the intense feud between a professional motorcycle rider turned bank robber (Gosling) and a rookie police officer (Cooper). The image showcase Gosling’s peroxided hair and overall badassness.

The film also stars Eva Mendes, Rose Byrne, and Ben Mendelsohn. The Place Beyond the Pines opens sometime next year.

Sounds like it should be called "Ride." :lol

Definitely intrigued, though! :rock

I haven't heard about this movie until now. It sounds like another hit for Gosling though. After seeing Drive , he's definitely an actor I'll follow, regardless of the role.

Looking forward to more details.

Gosling rocks, but when I first saw that pic I thought Freddie Prinze Jr. was making another Scooby Doo movie. :lol

Not sure about this the director sounds like a babbling fool.:)

Loved DRIVE so will definatley give it a watch though

He didn't direct Drive :dunno

He directed Blue Valentine with Gosling and that was a superb film.

:slapJust assumed he did.

Well gosling is good enough reason to give this a watch, good performance in drive and the girlfreind won't mind too much either:)

No, Nicolas Winding Refn directed Drive.

This is receiving massive early praise so I am excited for this.

Bruce Greenwood is such an underrated actor. I love Cianfrance's direction. He's so naturalistic and always allows his scenes to develop. That's hard to find these days.
