i just watched this for the first time yesterday amazing film i wish that steelbook was region free.

watched this yesterday. very refreshing expererience i must say, esp compared to the rest of the summer's offerings. what i find cool is that this a is film of not one, but three protagonists. ryan gosling being the first, and it is his actions that set in motion the fates of the other two. in a way, it's almost like an anthology film, but with the main characters all connected somehow.

i think this sort of structure will make quite a few viewers uncomfortable. they won't know what to make of this unfamiliar storytelling device, and reject it as "boring" or "unfocused". there were a couple of walkouts during my screening. personally, i think it worked. and the acting is all-round excellent. great score too. the resolution of the third protagonist's arc is a bit weak, but i got the message:

I'm a big fan of anthology stories. Or semi anthology stories. I'll watch it very soon. I was just waiting for it to come out on Blu.
