Again, NO.

I have worked with both materials and Polystone is definitely a heavier and more costly material every time. Sideshow's decision to use ABS (and for the zillionth time, that is not what I am questioning here) absolutely cut production costs on this piece.

Wow, than I'd feel like I was getting taken advantage of. Not to say that this piece wouldn't look as good one way or the other, but the fact that deep down I'd know that the profit is so much different and that I'm really just paying for a name would tick me off. I mean, I've said it before, somethings worth what you're willing to pay for it. BUT, if you kinda are told it's X amount of dollars because of production (not to mention rights etc.) and than later told HEY We cut production costs it costs less to make, YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY THE SAME AMOUNT THOUGH! That would make me feel a little uneasy.

I'm all for plastic in the future of PF's if it cuts costs:D

Look, if they lower the price from $325 to $275 (which would be a fair cut given the difference in material costs and weight) I will withdraw my beef on this one and will happily keep my pre-order.

They better not pull this ***** with Cap or I and many others will be livid. Imagine, a plastic Cap:monkey4

Ive heard rumors straight from SSC that Cap will be changed to rice-paper :rotfl:lol:lol

seriously though, this thread is funny.

But if you guys cancel the Fett PF, don't worry too much you still have that Medicom Fett for half the price and can do way more than a static pose :D

A- Sideshow uses Polystone and ships Fett with problems on a high number of figures. Bad proportions, broken/inconsitent pieces etc... = People storm the gates

B- Sideshow decides to punt on tthe polystone and uses plastic which guarantees a much higher consistent proportioned,, entact product delivered with much less returns = No Ploy = People storm the gates.

Its really a lose/lose situation for them.
I think they made the right decision.
But its obvious they expected the reaction. They went into more than enough detail explaining their decision. And I agree with the one they made.

But some would rather have polystone and go thru another Excl Western Ghotrider fiasco of mutliple returns and many delays to get a good figure.

.. although I do agree its a little late in the game to disclose this information...

I actually feel that the Medicom one is an all around better deal at this point. Poor Cap is going to be made from recycled paper mache.

As Scrooge McDuck would say "If that happens, I'll eat my hat."

...... well .. ok, I do agree the main body couldve/shouldve remained Ploystone to give it some weight

And if it doesn't happen, they lose my sale (and probably many others).

Pretty simple.

I am upset for two reasons.

1) I know they knew about this a while ago but did not tell us.
2) Everything is plastic! Gun, body everything.

Yes, receiving a broken Boba Fett would have sucked. However, I am sure they could have made the body and some other things poly without a problem. To me it seems like they did cut corners in this aspect. They may be testing us like the lottery system.

That is my main gripe/concern; I am expecting the usual heft and presence of the PF line.

I don't think that the usual weight will be there. They went out of their way to let us know that Boba would be lighter.

Yep. They even tried some preemptive damage-control by stating that we'll be able to save shipping costs as a result of the lighter weight of the piece. Gee, thanks SSC!

How many people do you let come in and handle your PF's?

I don't think anyone will know the difference between Fett and Obi as far as material used.

Let's face it, this thing still LOOKS amazing! That's the ONLY thing I care about and it should be the only thing you care about. I can deal with the plastic armor and I'm not happy about the plastic body. But when all is said and done, we care most that this looks like a PF. If it still looks like what I ordered, I'll be keeping it.

But if SS pulls this $hit again, there will be hell to pay. :emperor

Kind of agree with Irish on this one, the price should be dropped if cheaper material was used.

Sorry, but I ain't paying $350 (after shipping) for what amounts to a 24" non-poseable toy.

Bluntly stated, given the materials used the pricepoint on this thing is outrageous now.
