Agreed with Kazukijun. Here it's just, show customer card, they see what you're coming for, give you the game, you give them money, you collect points for discounts and you go.

I've honestly never had a problem with Gamestop. I still buy from them and it's the easiest, most reliable store in town. It's become "cool" to rag on them, but I don't have an issue.

Well i most definitely get a good Butt F%$Kin everytime i trade in a game :( . And i get harassed like this when i buy a game . :gah:

Yeah, the game stop I buy from they're really awesome to me there. I like the power up rewards program that they have. The sell back price of games is never gonna get you back what you paid. They're a business and have to make money in every aspect.

This video is hilarious, but the truth is that Gamestop is a very shady business. Most, if not all of their stores, remove new games from shrink-wraps, allow the employees to take home the games on loan, and then display the cases on shelf where people touch them with their grimey hands. They'll then sell back the same "new" games to unsuspecting customers, at full price. It's a disgusting practice, and they're the only corporation that does this. Gamestop has even been known to open up PC games and remove multiplayer voucher codes, if the codes were provided by competitors.

Since 2007, I've never bought anything from Gamestop. I do my business with Best Buy and Amazon.

Yeah I don't care about their product shoving or trade-in value.... but that "new" game ____ is ridiculous. If it's "new", it shouldn't be ____ing opened. Let alone missing stuff that's supposed to come with it.

But whatever, I don't buy my games at shops anymore... online has become more convenient, cheaper, and reliable.

This! I remember when I first bough Dead Space brand new it had been removed from the shrink wrap and the label had been cut so you know the game was gutted. Now at the time I didn't have much problem buying a gutted game so I didn't think much of it but when I got home, I noticed the the disc was scratched all to Hell and even had that circular scratch most disc's get from spinning inside the player/console. Needless to say I returned it and don't do much buisness with GS unless they have good pre-orders. I also hate how the put the price sticker on the actual cover art instead of the sleeve on their used games. Another reason I rarely buy from them anymore.

That is some shady business. Especially the scratched disk case can be frustrating because the game can start to glitch up. Here in Gamemania, when you buy a used game, they actually check the disk in front of you and if needed clean/repair it as they have the technology and customer service. It sucks for Gamestop customers that Gamestop are such poor, lazy ***** to not have such a service to ensure you're getting a game that at the very least works like any other game.

I remember when the employee at Gamestop tried to convince me that the Mo Van Barr glitch in Red Dead was 'supposed' to be like that, you weren't supposed to get it until the end of the game because the reward made you way overpowered. And I was like "But, Rockstar acknowledged it was a glitch on their website and they're working on it" and he was just like "Yeah, but still you should wait to get it until the end".

:slap

Not all of them are bad, but most of them are and give ALL of them a bad name. I stay away from Gamestop. I have a few buddies who work (or worked) there, and they always talk about how terrible it is, how you get reprimanded if you don't sell X number of pre-orders, that sort of thing.

When they buy used games, Gamestop doesn't even check to see if there are scratches on the disc, they just buy it. Hell I've seen times where they don't even bother to check used consoles when they buy them!

Heh. I bought MGS HD there last week and heard that spiel. I actually feel bad for the poor guys that work there, though. It isn't like they want to harass everyone with all that BS, but if they don't, they'll get reprimanded for it.

A lot of stores force their employees to do that kind of stuff.

I used to work at Toys R Us part time some years ago for a couple of months and they had a rule that if you didn't ask a customer if they wanted to buy batteries for their battery powered item, they could get a free bottle of pop. Some jerkface got one off of me from the customer service desk because I didn't ask him when he was buying his Rocky replica belt. The thing didn't use batteries. What an a-hole.

That as good. I only buy games fro walmart. l dont like those little stupid store. "Do you wan to pay another $4 for disk protection". ____ off and give me my game.

Oh man, yeah TRU was a wreck, I worked there for about a week. As a young lad, I was desperate for work and I was looking for anything, and they stuck me on the closing shift, and we had to go through and push all the merch to the front of the shelf, and the manager came through and told me to push it up more and I was just like "It's gonna fall off, if I push it forward anymore!!" I had one of those beeper things, this was when Razor scooters were hot, and every time the beeper thing would go off, you'd get a call in the back room and it'd be the cashier or whoever telling you they want red wheels or green wheels or whatever, you always had to go through and search for whatever color wheels they wanted. . . oh man. . . most definitely the worst job I ever had.

Every once in a while I'd get a tip for carrying out some big-ass swing set to somebody's car, but that was pretty much the only highlight of that job. I even went through and cut open cases of Star Wars figs to see if I could cherry-pick stuff, but it was all old stuff. I didn't even get any of the normal perks you'd THINK a TRU employee would get. I wasn't even there long enough to get a discount on toys, major bummer.

AAAANyways, yeah, Gamestop sucks, haha.

Besides the obvious... LOL My other complain about GS is I NEVER get my free exclusive gifts when you pre-order something from their store, but I keep going back. LOL :dunno I just pre-order RE: ORC from GS.
