BTW, owned this thing, is amazing, so sad seeing one with leaning issues. It's the only LSF worth its retail price and even more. All LSF should retail at 1000'ish, actually.

Various reasons. The most compelling is that at the time I needed quick cash, hard to beat.
In hindsight I would have probably sold it anyway - it doesn't really fit with the direction I took later for my collection, also the fact that the other CotD pieces steer towards pure gothic/high fantasy makes the Reaper a little too different and only further strengthens my idea that this is to be displayed as a standalone piece. Which brings up the other issue, space.

I love mine but would sell it too if I could get the right price. It's just hard to fit into a collection. Also the character doesn't hold nostalgia value. Based on artistry though, it's as good as it gets. No other statue stands up to it's detail and execution.

I actually think it'll be at least two years before you see the variant of this. The other COTD line-ups already shown will take precedence.

Yeah we won't see that new reaper for a few years I feel.. I was going to wait but just went with one on eBay. If I feel the new one is better then I'll sell but that's going to be at lest 1 to 2 years till we get him with all them pushback a SS does I can't even think of how long it'd going to take... Can't wait to get him should be here next week.. Most are running for 2k - 3k

This has never gone for $3k in the US, and a reissue has never gone up for PO.

I seen one sell the other day for 3k on eBay. Highest I ever seen it for.. I paid no more then 2,4 with shipping new never displayed with a zip file of pics of it in the box so I felt very comfortable with the price plus only 300 of them.. At 1st I was thinking it over and over again and again then just went with getting it. For me I will never sale him no matter how many more they come out with. I'm not to happy with the new one from the court. I will get him Cuz I'm getting the whole line but he does have this pose that's weird to me...

well, technically they've been going for 10k lol, so believe what you will, Sideshow Collectibles Reaper Deaths General | eBay. Even though it is a great piece, I think most people sell this because it holds no nostalgia for them, so the love for the piece wore off when they saw they could make $1k in profit off of this. Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $2k if I still wanted one, but under $2500 shipped for a mint one seems fair. I have seen that a lot of these are damaged. I wonder if they arrived that way or people just bump into it a lot.

I would say I lucked out then!!! I think this size statue you have to love it or not. Liking will turn into a sale years down the line. I love the reaper meaning. So a statue of him that looks amazing I wont get tired of unless I get offered10k then the reaper goes buy buy... Lol .. From what I was told it's hard to fit within Besta units... I have a pet shop near me that has them tall tanks for sell gonna check them out he would look nice all by him self with lights...

Sure the new one won't be for awhile, but it's all about patience. If not, go for it now, but like azurepred said, I wouldn't pay more than $2k for one.

I have one and I wouldn't sell it either ...ever. I just missed getting one from Sideshow themselves and had to source it off Ebay for 2k. The pain of that plus the fact it's a stunning piece of work makes it a keeper.

That's what I was thinking I got the same email... He looks just like the one I have just 2 things different.. The base and his arm holding the Scythe it is fully covered as mine is half covered as to the one I have is not... .. Maybe it's just the one SS has... Him sure they have ones a little different.... But I do like this base..... Oh wait maybe they changed the base now... I do remember him being apart of the dead line when he come out then a year later when the court hit they placed him under court of the dead to help the line.... Maybe this base is cuz all the statue have some what the same type of base.... I am looking at him now in my place near the queen of dead and can see how this base in the pic will look better near her....
