Damn that's great 225 is solid! Yeah double over hand is ruff on heavy weight. I was just curious since you are very into deadlifting if you had done any competitions. Haha about lifting so you can eat more, that's a great reason. I used to eat every 3 hours but it's just too much and I end up missing meals because of work so now I try to eat every 4 hours give or take which is a little easier and slightly less food. I don't so much worry about the calories as I do grams of protein.

Man Shawpaw 8k+!!! Oh my stomach aches just thinking about that. I know there are lots of amazing athletes eating 8k+ calories but I just can't do it. I mean I probably could with pizzas and burgers but not the healthy way.

Yeah snake, that straight bar is a shoulder and elbow killer!! I'm dumbbells only (straight bar once in a while). I've heard a lot of good things about those fat grips but I've also heard they can cause arthritis. Who knows, everything is bad for you nowadays. Glad you were able to figure a way around the thumb pain.

Buffy, I did try some sumos last week and they are easier but the stance feels so awkward to me. I did manage 365lbs four times with no straps over/under grip. I could have done more but I'm taking it slow. I just don't like straps because I want to challenge my grip strength at the same time. I know grip is the weak link but I still don't like straps...maybe if I get into the 500 range I'll strap. I like farmer carries to help increase grip strength too. Do you compete Buffy?

Causing arthritis? I think I was developing it not using them. The fatter grips just put your hands in a more relaxed and natural position. I only need them doing chest, while I just used naked bars for everything else. The downward force in my palms, primarily my left hand was really getting bad for awhile. Now, no pain at all and I can better control the dumbbells now.

What is your caloric intake with the weight training, Buff? I used to down 8k+ per day for bulk. Now I just wish I could eat 8k/day and not workout :lol

I'm only 5'0" so I still can't eat all that much. :( I'm actually only just eating at maintenance or a little below right now, depending on the day. Aside from today cause I ate a lot of Drafthouse food. My intake on a normal day is about 1300-1400 and then on refeed days, about 1700. I have 2 refeed days a week. However, I've spent quite a few days at the Drafthouse over the last week, thanks to GotG so I've eaten a lot of calorie dense foods. Oops. Lifting heavy will help me put it to good use, though.

225 isn't bad but I hate putting the gripps on for 235. And I'm just going to need to wear em as I go heavier each session/week unless my grip strength magically increases.

Yeah snake I'm not saying they will give you arthritis it's just what a few people told me. I know about that palm pain you're talking about, my left hand used to lock up when I'd bench heavy.

Do those farmer carries Buffy they help a lot with grip.

Very true but I'm too lazy.

Haha! Well a walk sounds like plenty to me.
Stationary bike is a great workout especially when distracted by YouTube :lol

Normally I try not to do deads the same day I squat. I'm not against it and I can always lift/pull my highest #'s. I skipped my session yesterday so today I'm doubling up. Then two days off so my muscles can repair and get bigger. Muahahaha. It's so weird how the body looks when lifting/when not. When I'm pulling, I look like a beast. But relaxed, not so much unless I move my arm in any way.

I took this video where I snapped a cap...my face looks so ridiculous, reason 1 I will not compete...but my arms are SO jacked. The photo is too small to attach here, you prob can't see it...

I can see you swolle up in that pic Buffy, I don't think anyone has an attractive lifting face haha!
Skiman lookin good dude! Fellow golds member, excellent

Ah nice! I saw a pic of your home gym and just thought you worked out at home exclusively... three it is then :hi5::yess:

I keep my membership but right now I'm training strictly at home. Mostly because as I started lifting/squatting heavier and getting fatter on my bulk, I really just wanted to feel uncomfortable at home instead of in public. So I just bought all of the Rogue stuff I had wanted and continued to grow at home, comfortably. I'll probably start going back in the late summer as I want to get a job at my Gold's. I am studying for my CPT right now. Slowly... I mean I haven't been studying as much as I could be. It's a lot of work. :lol

Haha! Hit the books and the weights! I'd like to have a nice home gym set up like you've got there buff, looks like a great place to lift. I know what you mean in a way about feeling kind of uncomfortable in your own skin at the gym...after all my injuries and getting deathly ill last year I felt so embarrassed with my newly lost gains it was hard to get back into the gym. Luckily golds Pasadena is like the cheers of gyms. Everyone there is your friend and everyone helps eachother out. If it wasn't for the support of all my friends there I wouldn't be bouncing back like I am.

Happy to report that since coming back to lifting in February when I was 20% body fat (terrible I know) and 106lbs of muscle I am as of now 18% and 108lbs of muscle! I'm so happy! I will get back to 15% and this time I'm looking to have like 110+ lbs of muscle

Well, you guys and gals motivated me to get off my azz. I was tired of always being tired and not sleeping well. So it was time for a change.

I started around the 1st week of March and was at my heaviest ever....230. I started on meal plan and light cardio (2-3 mile walks 5 days per week). I also increased my water intake to about 2 gallons per day.

2 1/2 months later I'm down under 2 bills at 198 this morning. My first goal was 205 and second goal is 195. After 195 I'll focus on toning up so I can look like Chunky.

Unfortunately, my dumbazz didn't take any before and after pics...DOH.
