Nora will be just fine. I feel Eph and her are just on a slower character arc than in the books. Remember it wasn’t until the third book that she turn into a real badass. But I think the change is starting now. Look how she handled Fet into giving her the six lamps. She has toughness in her.

The guy the plays Fet (I'm too lazy to look up his name as it escapes me) is probably one of the most talented character actors around. He can play anything!

Kevin Durand. Looking at his IMDB credits, I don't think I have seen him in anything before, but I agree he does a great job with Fet.

You probably did, but since he's not a lead character, you might've just missed him.

If you saw XM Origins: Wolverine, he played The Blob. He mostly plays bad guys but once in awhile he plays in comedies, like Wild Hogs.

Wasn't he in Lost also?

Anyway, this show is turning the corner and got me hooked

Yes, he was.

I watch Dominion on Syfy when it's on and that is based on the movie Legion in which he played Gabriel. He's 100 times better than the guy playing Gabriel in the series.

I also remember him from smokin aces and waaaay back in the day when he played the dog guy on Dark Angel. He was also Barry Burton in the newest Resident Evil.

I love what he did with fet though. Reading the books, they gave him his name and talked about his heritage but he was born in the states so I always thought of him talking with his NY accent. But having Durand mix both accents was unexpected and awesome. You can easily detect both. So far they got him right with translating him from the books.

The master looked great apart from the ears. Wasn't really digging on those. I'm curious as to why they decided to keep them in.

Yea I thought he looked goofy with those large ears. They should've just kept his face hidden until maybe the last episode

Actually!

...he looks like a distant cousin of Greta! :lol

Jokes aside, looking forward to what happens next. So far, my favourite character is Fet/Kevin Durand.

The ears looked fine to me. In fact, I really dug everything from the nose up. I didn't like his big Apocalypse mouth. I would've preferred something scarier and more alien. But oh well, he does have dialogue to deliver I suppose and this is a cable tv budget, so all in all it was a great makeup job.

I dunno, he looks dorky and it seems rather silly to lose his nose but then keep his ears. They're made of the same thing. The design should be as far removed from a traditional vampire as possible IMO. Dehumanizing them brings them as close to being a monster as possible.

I would of completely removed the ears (as per their original design) and done something with the lips. Lighten them up or change the shape a bit.

Maybe to resemble Nosferatu.

Yeah you nailed it; that is exactly what he looked like.

Overall I am really enjoying the show. Know that the gang are all together, plus the useless blonde woman, its really coming together!

The only thing I am trying to remember about Fet from the books versus the show; In the books, I could have sworn they said he was 'Russian in name' and not born there. Meaning no accent, English may or may not have been his primary language, but in the show, he's clearly russian. More interesting to me than anything

I thought last night's episode was a little slow. Not bad, but they are really dragging out the Kelly missing storyline. I thought the Master looked more on the silly side. Personally, I am a big fan of leaving some details (like the Master's face) up to the viewer's imagination. As much as the Master's face made me giggle, it paled in comparison to how much I laughed at the Eph/Nora love scene. Yikes, that was passionless and uncomfortable to watch. Loved the scene's with Setrakian/Dutch/Fet/Zach. The four of them and Gus (if/when he ever finds them) could carry this show without Eph and Nora IMO.

I actually giggled a bit when they showed the Master's face. It was so surprisingly goofy, like a bad charicature artist's rendition of Nosferatu. It really caught me off guard.
