I totally agree. With their skill set at ADI and the number of different xenomorphs under their belt I have no idea why they would turn that mess into a lifesize piece. They should have went with a genuine xeno and not the giant FUPA belly monster.

I think it's all about personal taste.
To me, the alien warrior happens to be the one I don't like at all. A knock off version big chap.

I thought the newborn was creepy AF. Especially when it was pissed off.



I also liked that it was an original idea rather than rehashing another version of the typical xenomorph we had already seen several variations of.

As much of an absolute massive fan I am of the Alien franchise and of ADI, I can’t help but feel like with these prices, they are taking their fans for suckers. They talk up everything they’re producing, like it’s the best of the best, and attach an absurd price point. Yes, it’s ADI producing these pieces however their prices are ridiculous.

In comparison to what? Do you know of similar pieces made directly by FX industry artists to compare against? I can tell you with certainty that the few 1/3 dog Alien maquettes made and painted by ADI's artists previously, would cost you much more to own!

Besides, part of the cost is going into supporting the Art of PFX. What price would you put on that? Is a painting's cost based on the combination of materials it's made out of alone or the artists and the art itself?

If you only really believe the worth is in the materials alone,then you would just buy a much less expensive print or, for example in this case, a less costly Chinese manufactured replica. Even then you are still paying more than the cost of materials it's made from and the labor involved.

I'll take this one....in comparison to custom artists who do just as good of a job as ADI if not better for cheaper.

No doubt custom artists can do great work and even end up working in the FX industry or have in the past.

However, the comparison is still subjective. It's not a comparison of an in house FX studio produced piece with an in house FX studio produced piece. They would have more closely matched cost structures involved.

A custom artist also usually doesn't have licensing to contend with.

It would probably outlast most people's smartphones or UHD TV's.

I think the intention was to make it original to the 3/4 prop,materials and all.
