The problem is, after The Hobbit, I don't see much else being developed in the LOTR universe, where as in SW you get animated movies, prequel trilogies, comics, books, enough video games, etc. I think Tolkien estate is probably trying to not dilute what the master created with a bunch of other peoples interpretations and additions to the works; and you gotta respect that because they could certainly become sell outs on this franchise.

For this I am grateful. LOTR and all other Tolkien works are a epic masterpieces and a work of literature. Comparing them to SW is doing them severe injustice. Most of the Star Wars hype is coming from people who still have a sentimental connection to the franchise due to their childhood. LOTR is different altogether and has appealed to people due to its great story and not just the cinematics, as was the case (for the most part) with the OT. I hope the Tolkien Estate never becomes sellouts and stay true to J.R.R masterpieces.

I agree but for me I would have never even bothered with LOTR or even heard about it if it was not for the movies. I was 13 I think when I saw FOTR and I have been in love ever since. Due to being such a fan of the movies though I explored all the literary novels by Tolkien and love them just as much.So I think my heart will mostly lay with the movies just because those came first in my life but I love the books also.

The thing is I think LOTR will last for as long as time because of the books. Then you toss in the fact we have three great movies with some more on the way and ya know if collectibles aren't the BIG thing thats ok. It won't damper my LOTR love.

Yep i agree the books of LOTR and other Middle Earth books will last the test of time as they have already proved. They are a masterpiece of a Brillant mind.

Mine has shipped!! Will be here Friday.

I'm looking forward to this. I feel the time is right to recieve new poly! I need a new scene to look at next to the other two! Let us know what you think of Saruman, as people have been wondering about the likeness, or facial expression. As always, I'm sure this piece looks even better in person!

Yeah, will be nice to get a new LOTR piece as its been a while. Don't worry I'll give my 3-4 cents on the piece.

I just got mine delivered, #95. Won't be able to open till this weekend at earliest. My place is currently a disaster area.

Congrats! I'm curious to see since the last LOTR Dio was Helms Deep and I got a really low # how this one will compare.
