Yeah, I've got the same ski mask - it really improves the figure.

But he's missing his grappling hook! You gotta stick it on his belt!

(And technically, he probably shouldn't have the batarangs, since he didn't make those until after he wore the ski-mask outfit.)

I have the Grapple Gun on the belt , LOOK at him bum shot :lol

Gah, my bad. Only the first few pics loaded for me the first time I opened the thread, so I only saw the side pic without the grapple gun.

Cool!

An interesting fact about the grapple gun...

I always assumed the slot at the back of the Takara and Hot Toys Batman belts for the grapple gun was a liberty the toy companies took with the costume design, to give you a spot to store the grapple gun on the figure's utility belt - just like the slots for the batarangs (which aren't actually on the real-life costume). Since it's at the back of the figure, and often hidden by the cape, it's certainly not something that even screen-accuracy purists would really care about.

But while doing a bit of research on the costume a few days ago, I watched the scene in "Batman Begins" when Wayne is wearing the "first night out" suit and leaps off the GCPD rooftop, with Gordon chasing him. I was surprised to see that the grapple gun was on the back of the utility belt, in exactly the same position as it goes on the Takara and Hot Toys figures' belts!

I tried to take some screencaps, but each individual frame is kind of blurry - it's a very fast-moving, dynamic shot, so it looks good in motion, but there didn't seem to be an easy, really visible single frame to show. But it's pretty easy to spot if you watch the clip.

Just thought I'd share, in case anyone else besides me didn't realize the idea for the grapple gun at the back of the belt actually comes from the movie.

^ Cool bit of info man, I wonder why they changed it to the weird 'hooked to the side' look in TDK. I think that looks horrible, much better at the back

:waveAwesome man nice find , i have the film on Bluray so the next time i watch it i will pause it and check it out . Thanks for the info man :clap :hi5:

Yeah, I think that was a deliberate choice to show it as being awkward, in the way, and visually unappealing - it helps sell the idea that he needs a new, slimmer suit, since there's so much bulk with his tools and everything. Plus, reaching around to the back to grab his grapple gun would be made even more difficult now that he's got the cape.

New here! Just wondering if anyone has pics of the Tak Bats first night out with a custom ski mask? I'm thinking about picking on up. not sure though.
Thanks again!

In short, a member here has sculpted a Batman Begins head that will be sold through CREG Customs (another member here). I don't have a link on hand, but the sculpt is phenomenal.

It was recently announced that he would be offering a Hot Toys version as well as a Takara version. This is very good news because Hot Toys and Takara have different neck joints, and I was worried about how I was going to get the head to fit on my Takara.

FYI, the new head is quite large compared to the head that comes on the stock Takara figure so it will look odd unless you modify the body by stuffing it with cotton:

Ah, thanks for the tip! That takara looks amazing, to bad you can't find one these days for a decent price or I would totally pick one up. Even though I would display him as the prototype suit with the ski mask!

To be clear, the head pictured above is the stock Takara head. I have it posed so that it's not too obvious, but the head is too small after bulking up the body. :(

The (larger) custom head I have been talking about is not available yet. :peace
