Wow! What a great season premier. This episode fired on all cylinders. Carol was a one woman wrecking crew in this one. I cannot get over how much her character has changed from the first season. She has proven to be very resourceful and smart. Loved her showdown with Mary.
I thought the opening scene was absolutely brutal. The baseball bat and throat slashing over the trough gave me chills. Poor Glenn. He almost got whacked three different times. Nice to see Rick go all vampire slayer with the wooden stake on the two butchers. BTW, the first guy to get whacked was Andy from last season. He was the one who met Rick and Carol in that neighborhood and his gf with the bum leg got eaten by Walkers.
So the Termites decided to stop being the cattle and become the butchers?? Regardless of what they went through in the past, it wasn't an excuse for what they were doing in the present. Like Rick said, they all needed to die. I hope Gareth is dead, but he wasn't hit with a kill shot so he will probably pop up later on.
The dude who threatened to kill baby Judith was a P.O.S. I was pumping my fist when Tyreese burst through that door and beat the living *****e out of him.
The reunion scene was so uplifting. The look on Daryl's face when he sees Carol was priceless. It was like he was reduced to a little boy who had just found his mommy. Then when Rick and Carl reunite with Judith and Sasha reunites with Tyreese...it was so nice. I kept waiting for something "bad" to happen. This show has got me so shell shocked that I am always expecting them to lull us into a sense of false security with the whole group (minus Beth) reuniting and then wham they sucker punch us in the gut. I was cringing expecting the guy that Tyreese beat up to not be dead and pick up a gun and come out the door and shoot someone (like when Rick was holding Judith). Thankfully, it didn't happen.
Pumped to see Morgan reappear too. That now makes three black men (Morgan, Tyreese and the priest (Father Gabriel?)) on the show. Too bad I can't change my dead pool because the odds on all three of them surviving the season are not good based on past track records.
All in all, a great episode. TWD and bad@ss Rick are back!
