'The Walking Dead' Still Suffers From The Same Frustrating Problems In Season Five

FORBES writer talks about the problems with the walking dead (as well as the stuff he loves about the show)

any thoughts? agree? disagree? he does make some very good points,
Overall I'd agree entirely with the article. They do make the characters fit whatever narrative they already have in mind, regardless if it means people acting stupidly or out of character altogether.

It's a meh article from a meh "contributor" as he's credited.

Oh 2010 me, how wrong I was thinking this would be great. *snickers* I do love the graphic novels and Darabont who is the reason for this TV series beyond Kirkman of course, and one of my all-time favourite directors.... it just hasn't translated well for me. Glad to see the genre and the story get so much love. I am just not feeling it. Does it get better after season 1? That's where I gave up.

STFU, Eli! :wave

Exactly. To me the argument that she did it so Daryl could escape is opposite of what she knows he would do. She knows that Daryl's first reaction would be to go to her aid which would put him at risk.

someone could say that she anticipated Daryl Not going after her or that somehow Daryl would get that she was trying to get into the place by getting hit,

But they were already looking for Beth and she would know how hard Daryl took it (you can tell by how much he wants to find her) it would be more unrealistic to think that he wouldn't go after Carol the way he did (or that Carol wouldn't expect him to go after her right away. they might say it was her plan all along but I still don't see it.
I hope they don't say she did it on purpose because it would make no sense

I am glad you said it. I agree. He does make some interesting points, but overall it is just another viewer's opinion. No more or less valid than anyone else's.

To be fair, it was not presented as an authoritative piece either, just a perspective on the series with some reasonable opinions.

gone as my mother but there, there....have a mini snicker. or one of those left over Halloween candies. :1-1:

Awww...thanks. Leftover or not, candy's still candy. Especially from strangers. ;)

yet everyone keeps coming to read each other's opinions hehe :lol

Which just goes to show how much viewership power this show has.

Although you could also say, a lot of people constantly ***** about this show but for some reason they keep watching it week to week.

One can like the show and acknowledge flaws at the same time. It's just as weak to be overly defensive as overly critical.

Eh, like it or hate it is still annoying as hell to hear the same people OVER AND OVER again ***** about the show. If I like the show I would much rather be in a discussion where people are overly defensive. Since that doesn't happen, I rarely come in here.

Yeah, same people reiterating the same points ad nauseum gets on my nerves, too, but it's the nature of the beast. When I get too annoyed with it I know it's a sign that I need to take a break from the forum.
