Thank you! I've been wondering who this man is that has been following their trail. Completely forgot about Morgan and figured him long dead. When was the last time Rick actually saw him?

In the episode "Clear" after Morgan had gone crazy and set himself up in that small town.

I still dont get why rick shot him, it makes no sense

that was almost like a Governor moment for him, no reason at all

I thought Bob, or whatever his name was, mentioned that he thought his back was broken, at that point, in that world, I'd say that qualifies as a mercy killing.

Actually it makes perfect sense. They didn't hunt him down and kill the Governor after the first prison raid and it came back to haunt them. They didn't go back and kill the remaining Terminus people after their escape and it came back to haunt them. There's a pattern. Rick finally sees it and sees it's been a mistake. There might be more examples that I'm missing too. Killing Agent Sitwell was the right call. :lol

stop et, the guy crush sasha into a window glass and knock her unconscious.

he got it easy. no machete or zombie treatement.

Then there's the fact that he had done nothing but lie to Rick from the moment he was captured, right up to when he was bleeding on the ground with a broken back, after having tried to escape and warn Dawn and the others, potentially putting the lives of Beth and the rest of them at risk. He practically asked for it.

There is zero moral equivalence between Rick Grimes and the Shanes, Governors, or Termites of the world. They're opposites.

Rick's no governor. He was ok going with someone else's plan. He was ok with a legit prisoner exchange with no tricks. He didn't want to take the safety of the place they had set up. He gave the guy a chance to stop running. When he hit the guy, he broke his back and likely gave him a concussion as well. The guy was ****ed and couldn't move. This isn't a Chris Nolan movie where you can fix a broken back with a quick *** to the ribs. He'd be in traction for months and Rick knew showing up with someone he'd crippled would hurt the deal. Also, like Devil said, when he gives people who legit wrong his group a second chance, they come back and kill someone from his group.

Yeah I agree, Rick is not close to become another crazy man, it could happen but not yet...

Never happen "in real life". What this show does an excellent job of doing is showing the human condition in America in 2014. It's already every man for himself and that is an attitude that would only get worse in a zombie apocalypse type situation. You would never get enough people together who were willing to sacrifice and work together for the good of all. Most able bodied people in this country were born after the Great Depression and WWII. Even people who live in poverty in this country have it fairly good compared to the rest of the world. Take most of the food and water away and the same chaos and anarchy you see on TWD would be the norm. Look at the leaders of the various groups portrayed on this show. Rick, Gareth, the Governor, Dawn, Joe. All including Rick are somewhat frightening and not people you would feel comfortable being associated with under normal circumstances. That is the kind of leader it would take to even get started. The social commentary and subtext of TWD reminds me of watching the original Star Trek back in the sixties.

I don't see how it would be the end to everything and TWD worldwould be the norm from here on out. For the first three to five years possibly, maybe a little more, but not forever. Again chaos, anarchy and tribalism initially, but in the ensuing years there would be adaptation, a return to order and society building. That's a pattern that has been repeated in human history time and again. We would adapt to not only survive in the short term but to build in the long term. Also the infrastructure and knowledge base in place would give the survivors a huge advantage to return to some semblance of order a lot faster. We would just be facing a new set of realities. Not just a few billion bloodthirsty corpses, but a plague that turns former friends and loved ones into hostile combatants. If the norm became TWD world humanity would only last a generation or two because infants and small children would not last long. So inevitably people like those in the group would die off from random walker attacks, violent clashes with other groups, accidents, disease, or aging. So without an infusion of replacements you are talking maybe 20-30 years. Maybe a little longer, but the numbers of survivors would continue to diminish. After which decaying walkers would roam the earth for a few more decades until the elements broke down the last of the organic materials and that would be that for humanity. The good news is there would be a fresh planet ripe for new inhabitants. Maybe the alien species that introduced the zombie virus in the first place as an extermination measure :)

WOW! That totally took me by surprise! I had read that someone would die, but I had kinda forgotten about it as the show went on. But when it started to go down and Beth turned to Dawn, I thought, "oh, it's Dawn that dies." But then Beth's head explodes! I was completely caught off guard for that. And seeing everyone's reaction made me misty eyed. I think they handled the scene extremely well. I actually thought the bullet came from under Beth's chin, but seeing the animated gifs here I see a spot on the forehead which seems very unlikely since Beth wasn't looking down. Just a minor quibble IMO and I'll just pretend the bullet entered under her chin like I first thought!

And Dawn definitely did not mean to shoot. She clearly looked surprised and even mouthed the words!

The trouble with this is by running over Bob, Rick set up Beth dying. Had Rick drove ahead of Bob and captured him Dawn would have been less likely to want to hold on to Noah. That was the catalyst that set Beth off and caused her to stab Dawn. Dawn's group would have no motive for going after Rick's posse once they left peaceably. Rick was right in wanting to scorch earth the Governor and Terminus. That didn't need to happen at the hospital.

I think Dawn would have found something else to try and get the upper hand with. It was her MO to never look weak. An even trade, even 3 for 3 would not have been good enough for her.

Nah, she still would have wanted Noah. It was a power play. She wanted to show her group she was still in control.

What was Beth trying to do? Did she have a knife? Was she stabbing Dawn? And what the **** were we supposed to make of Dawn anyway? Her character seemed bizarre to me.

Agreed. There was no appeasing Dawn. She laid out her MO to Beth a few times in this regard (must have respect/fear of rest of group, can't look weak, etc.), so it's not any way in doubt, IMO. As someone else mentioned, people have been begging for Rick to man-up for a few seasons now. So now he's acting decisively to protect his group and people are lopping him in with the likes of the Governor? Can't please everyone, I guess!

In regards to Beth, I'm glad she's off the show. I don't get her character's appeal, to be honest. I think nexus compared her to wallpaper (though I understand that he does like the character) and for me that's about right. She served no purpose, really, so she may as well get killed off.

I think that's mostly just the result of poor writing, which I've sort of come to accept as part of the show.
