I dont mean to pry but since you raised it, does any portyal of death bother you? Or is it a specific portrayal? If you prefer not to respond i'lltake no offense. Thx.
So the directors accomplished their jobs. I remember when Saving Private Ryan was in the theaters. When I left the theater you could have heard a pin drop. There were reports of veterans tearing up. Reports of veterans having flash backs. If that's not good movie making I don't know what is. Same with this. It affected people so deeply because it was so well presented. My daughter cried.
I was sobbing in the parking lot. I mean...SOBBING!
It's cool. Obviously this episode is of great discussion interest to a lot of people and I'd hate to close the thread, even temporarily.
It will be OK by this time next. Once Shiva shows up all the big cat lovers will declare it as the best episode ever.
When my mom passed away I stopped watching shows with realistic violence (like Law & Order and CSI type shows) and it took a long time for me to want to watch them again. Then my dad passed away and while I am ok watching shows like TWD they really do affect me in a different way. While the season premier was bad for me it was even worse during the cliff hanger with the first person view and Negan saying “taking it like a champ.” Just the thought of being there and hearing him be an ass to you while he kills you just got to me pretty good. I’ve turned into a big baby I think.
I finally watched the episode and I wasn't particularly wow'd by it
Was it too sadistic ?

You were probably already emotionally drained from Saturday night's loss and had nothing left for TWD.
