Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Will be interesting seeing how rick will make his decisions without dale in the background reminding him about morality etc. dale was too trustworthy which in the situation they're in is dangerous.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I never liked Carl. Not sure if it's because of the character or simply the actor's performance, but his seemingly-mature and surprisingly worldly behavior always came off as forced. No kid at that age would act like he does nor would he accept the situation like it is so easily. The portrayal of Carl is just loaded with BS; not for one second do I believe he is as real as the other characters on the show. Last night was the first time he's truly shown his age -- and let's face it, his stupidity. Sure, he's confused and conflicted, trying to make it in the world as best he can, but I know I wouldn't go out throwing rocks at zombies for no apparent reason, no matter how confused I am...

...AND he's becoming more like Shane. Kid's begging to be killed, I'm telling you guys.

Tottaly agree. I cringe every time this kid gets some screen time. Personaly i can't wait for this kid to F#@%ing die...:lol

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Carl is fine for a child actor, he doesn't annoy me at all, I might be the only one but he is okay, I hated that he didnt tell anyone about the walker but there are WAY worst kid actors out there, waay worst, i think we got lucky Carl is not as bad as it could be

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

He's a pretty awful actor. Currently, he's the worst. Other kids have done a better job.

Hit Girl from Kick-Ass is one, the girl from Hanna and The Lovely Bones, ect.

I havent heard anything bad about Hugo, or the actors.

This kid though. Damn. Someone needs to direct him better.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Carl needs to stop kidding around with a gun . Could lose your eye fooling around with somthing like that.

His behavior is just so forced! I don't know what it is, but whenever he does something, it's like he does it just because someone tells him to. Like "Oh, the world is over, but I need to man up. Okey-dokey. Done." You don't get that raw sense of struggle you get with the other characters, like it actually takes effort to be who they are. Granted, he's only a kid and would therefore be a little more accepting of things, but still. I don't believe his performance for a second. Kills the flow whenever he's on-screen. It was bearable before since he never really did anything, but now that Dale's dead because of his reckless little stunt? Kid needs to die or show some genuine, consistent emotion for once. At the moment, he's getting no sympathy from my end.

:lecture:lecture:lecture:exactly: Because kids nowadays are highly rational and just loaded to the gills with remorse. :lol

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

You never know; it could become a post apocolyptic Sunday afternoon past time.:D

I don't know. I could see myself chucking rocks at a stuck zombie just for kicks. I'd shoot it if it got unstuck, though ... and I wouldn't be close enough to be grabbed, either.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I'm guessing he might get more screen time now that Dale is gone.

Also can see him interacting with Michonne next season.

I pretty sure that I'm in the minority, but in reference to the spoiler tag, I always thought that Michonne's concept in the comics just seemed a bit too random for this type of series. It's as if the creators got together in a drunken party and decided, "hey guys, any of you like Kill Bill? Well, how about we toss in this chick, give her a samurai sword and make her all bad-ass, like Bushido hacking and slashing ####". You can't get more cliched than a lone swords-man with a mysterious past :lol.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Just saw it last night. Pretty good. It was going slow through most of it til the end. And Dale was irritating the hell out of me throughout most of it. He never bothered me before but he was just so damn earnest about his argument, even though I agreed with him. I think they should have just taken the kid out again and dropped him off somewhere. Their arguments against doing that again were pretty weak ("too many walkers" "you could break down", etc). And it would have been a clean getaway last week if only they hadn't gotten into a fight which drew the walkers' attention (or were the walkers locked up in the building, only to be released when the window was broken?). Next time, no fighting and you'll be fine. I think it would have been worth the risk to keep your humanity.

BTW, I think I had read about TV shows doing this often (maybe it was about Veronica Mars in particular): When they are balancing the budget for a particular show, if they need funds for maybe a special guest star, they will not have a regular cast member on the episode so they don't have to pay them for a week in order to pay for the guest star instead. It totally seems that's what happened last week with the walkers extravaganza. They needed to shift the funds from the majority of the cast (most everyone at the barn were mysteriously elsewhere) to pay for all the zombies (including all the makeup and effects)!

And I can see a kid being dumb enough to throw rocks at a walker like that, especially since he seems to be turning into a psycho kid. Kinda like blowing up frogs with firecrackers or roasting ants with a magnifying glass. And even if Carl would have shot (or tried to shoot) the walker, he probably would have missed and been thrown off his feet from the recoil. When he did fall over and lost the gun and ran away, and they showed the walker clawing on the ground, the first thing I though of was, "Now I have a gun. Ho Ho Ho." :lol

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Call me crazy but I don't think I would walk around by myself as much as these people do. It seems like every episode has someone walking out in the woods or way in the back of the farm by themselves. What the heck people?

Haha exactly. Like where was Dale going? It looked like he was randomly going to walk into the woods in darkness, when he suddenly stumbles across the dead cow.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

And how did he not hear that walker? Ninja zombie, perhaps?

Yeah, I can't stand that in zombie films. The thing doesn't make a single noise until the final lunge attack and suddenly he's all "muuuuaaaaauauaaaauaaa" during the whole attack. WTF?
