Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Man we have to be outside the realm of spoiler tags now....if you come into this thread without having seen the episode 2 days after it aired it's your fault.

Some people don't get AMC (like myself) so I have to download them off iTunes the next day. And I've seen the episode. I'm just looking out for the readers who haven't. Mkay? :)

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I believe Dave's rule is still 24 hours......so I'm looking out for readers who haven't too.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I normally don't watch the episode till Tuesday, this week withstanding, so I know not to come into this thread till then. Spoiler tags are for any info that goes beyond the current episode or for those talking about characters that they may know more about through the comics, etc.

Dave posted earlier about the spoiler tag issue which was getting out of hand. It's up to you (or whoever hasn't seen it) to steer clear of the thread after the episode airs if you/they haven't seen it yet. Spoiler tags are now only for unaired episode spoilers or comic spoilers. Thems the breaks but that's Uncle Dave's take. :huh

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

As to the 'invasion', I'd agree that it's not going to happen. Not enough time in two hours, I'm thinking, and if they just decide to move on because Randall escapes (and the coming winter - they've made a point of bringing that up repeatedly, and perhaps they'll decide that further north is a good idea anyway) that leaves this group out there for a potential later meeting. Maybe they won't have a full scale invasion, but perhaps some further smaller meeting that just proves they need to get the Hell out of there before this larger group shows.

What makes it a tough call is that we know most of them are probably intended to survive...and yet if 30 or more heavily armed people show up, that's unlikely. They could replay the situation in the town though - the bad guys show up and attack them at the farm, the battle ensues (and depending on how much ammo they have left, which they've made a point of saying isn't much) goes on for awhile until...whoopsie, half the zombies in the county show up for a quick snack! The bad guys are in the open and exposed, attacked by zombies, have to retreat and the good guys escape...I suppose they could fit that in.

Originally I thought Herschel might be a goner this year - makes sense in the context of the group moving on, with just Maggie going with Glenn and the others dying. Now I'm not so sure though. They set him up over the last couple episodes to be a good Dale replacement. First, by coming around to the idea that he needs Rick and the group to take care of his daughters, and then by having that moment with Glenn. Remember, Glenn went to Dale for advice and treated him like a father figure - now, that role can be handled by Herschel. Also, he seems to be finding his center again, coming to grips with the situation.

Of course, Jimmy, Otis' wife and the blonde daughter could all still end up dead this season, but I'm thinking at least some of them will make it to the beginning of next season to be early zombie food.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I still think the lone zombie Shane was watching from the car is the start of a herd....

In the comics it was stated that all it takes is one zombie moving in a direction, others see it and begin following it, soon there could be hundreds...

I agree with that. I watch the show after it's available online, so I know not to read this thread between when it airs, and when I've watched it.

Spoiler tags in here should be for things that haven't aired yet.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

____ Carl.

Convenient ninja zombies with super strength.

I already miss Dale.

Excellent episode.

Same here. These stragglers seem to be getting closer and closer to the farm, in Dale's case, too close. It's just a matter of time before the flood hits.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I don't know - having a zombie army outside might be a nuclear deterent. I hadn't thought about it before, but having a barn full of zombies that you could let lose when you were attacked, and you lock yourself up tight in the house, might not be a terrible idea. You'd have to assume you could peck them off afterward from the upstairs windows (seems reasonable)...sort of like dangerous guard dogs.

That makes about as much sense as opening a gash in your hand and going swimming during a shark feeding frenzy. You're begging to get "Roy Horned." :lol

EDIT: Tactically speaking that could also backfire, with the opposition releasing them and using them to clear you out. Then you're fighting off two enemies. Romero's Dawn of the Dead showed it doesn't work all that well.

Kinda hard for them to attack if you're locked up inside the house.

And it also works well from another perspective - the outsiders show up and there's a dozen walkers wandering around the farm, it might imply to them that there's no one left, and it's not the safe haven they thought.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

well if gunshots draw in more walkers from far away i guess the last thing you would want is a fire fight at your farm/fortress............seems like it would be a viscious cycle...........:dunno

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Just curious. as i walked into the room as the attack was occuring, did the zombie he rip his stomache open with his hands??? i didnt see him chew on Dale.

Yes Dale was focused on keeping the walker's mouth and teeth away from his face and had him by the neck and the walker's hands were both free so he just ripped Dale's stomach open.
