Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Wow, I thought it was a powerful scene.

Rick's anguish over having to shoot his best friend was very powerful for me. Didn't feel forced or flat for me.

Agreed. I felt for Rick in that scene.

Daryl is just awesome. The tracking and seeing the neck snap with no bites enforces his place as They Better Not Kill Me Off.

Daryl is simply a badass character! :lecture :yess: :rock

Daryl has just been promoted to "Rick's right hand man". :yess:

Right now, those two make the whole show for me. They could kill off everyone else and have Rick and Daryl hook up with another group and I'd still watch.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

If you go on IMDB, and other sites where most of the people haven't read the books, they don't know about the everyone is a zombie thing.

So, that IS kind of a big deal for non fans.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I disagree. Don't even see where either one of you are coming from.
Rick knew he was going to die whether he drew or not. He lulled Shane into a false sense of security by giving up his gun. When Shane was distracted he drew his knife. Don't know why this is considered boring or weak. Also stuck true to the comic by Carl shooting Shane. It may have been zombie Shane but I think it would have caused a stink on tv an adolescent gunning down a policeman.

I guess there was just no tension in the scene for me. You know Rick isn't going to die, and you know Shane isn't going to survive, so it's just a matter of sitting there and waiting for the inevitable. For all the buildup that showdown had this season, the scene felt incredibly one-dimensional to me.

:exactly:

One of my friends has never read the books and hasn't had an inkling as to the fact they are all already infected. I'm sure he knows now.

I read the books and I remember when it was revealed in the books that I was surprised and thinking "wow, things just got a whole lot bleaker."

Totally agree.

Tonight's spoiler below
Shane added a great dynamic of good verse evil with the group. His time has more than expired IMO. Today was the perfect episode for him to go.

I swear if they kill Daryl in the finale I am done with the series.

Is there a way they could have done it where you would have found it tense and satisfying?

That's all fine and dandy, but my complaint wasn't about the acting. :lol

Lori looked up at the windmill and made her derpy little face and you could just tell this was all coming, don't know why they want us to hate her so much, shes up there with Debra from Raymond and the Malcom in the Middle woman in terms of annoyance tho.

Yup! New rule for the zombie apocalypse. When people who've ____ed with you emotionally try to apologize, GTF OUTA DODGE!!!!

This is where your theory falls flat. At any point, Shane could've put Rick down, at any point while they were walking around for what seemed like hours. He didn't. Not because he couldn't, but because he never intended to. :wink1:

You are kidding right? :lol He tried to kill Rick with the wrench two episodes ago, but didn't only because he has lousy aim. He was going to kill him tonight, he needed to make sure he was far enough away from Glen and Daryl and he also wanted Rick to go for his gun to make it "easier" for him to shoot him.

Daryl is not dying. If they kill anyone it'll be the black dude who barely says or does anything in each episode. Why is he even there? I even forgot his name. All he needs is a red shirt.

Then why let Rick say his piece and talk things out? Why let him get close enough? Why even let him say a word? Shane didn't need to make it any easier to shoot Rick than the fact that Rick's inept. And we also know that Shane is a marksman, so that wasn't the issue.

I'll be curious to see how they handle this going forward. I mean will they when the show ends somehow coming up with a cure of somekind or everyone turns into a zombie.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Because Shane isn't a total evil human. Just a very un-hinged demented one.

He probably would have killed him. And if not at that moment, then perhaps soon.

Otis' wife, Carol, and T-Dawg are the crowd favorites for next week IMO. Maybe even Hershel too.
