:rock :rock :rock That's some of the best zombie makeup I've ever seen!

Clearly an homage to this guy:

Very, very cool.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

So any guesses where the season might end? Obviously they aren't following the comic too closely, so I doubt -

They will even move into the prison, let alone touch on the storyline with Martinez/etc; though zombie gladiators will rock!

You would think that given the almost year-long hiatus it will have to be something of an emotional cliffhanger. :dunno

They still have the gated community and farm to get to before the prison. The prison could be held off until Season 3 at this rate.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I don't know. I was hoping that by the end of this season they'd start traveling around, getting away from the camp outside Atlanta. But seeing the preview for next week's episode, it looks like we get more new people, gang-like, who could have been Merle's rescuers. Let's not forget the helicopter. To me that means either a) they spend a whole lot more time in Atlanta telling a totally un-comic book story or b):

they leap frog everything to the Mayor theme. Think about it, their first encounter with the Mayor led from the helicopter incident. Perhaps instead, the Mayor has an actual working helicopter, has flown into Atlanta, and snagged Merle. They'll love Merle of course, and hate Rick. And since Merle had to cut his hand off to free himself, it makes sense that they'd punish Rick by cutting his off. I'm hopin that's not the case - I'd like to see them build up to the Mayor storyline, rather than jumping in so soon after the reunion, but with such a short season, anything is possible I suppose.

COMIC SPOILER

My guess is that the end the season with Shane being killed and moving away from Atlanta and towards the farm.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I would agree with you SS. Despite the completely plausible case Michael made, I think that plot point won't be ignored and where it occurs to allow the return.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I certainly hope SS is right - that's where I originally assumed it would end. Don't forget, if they follow the comic -

it's not just Shane who dies, but one of the sisters and the reclusive dude, who I assume is the guy in the overalls.

Also, if I could change one thing, I'd have them spend a little more time on some of the other characters in the camp. Other than the Shane/Rick/Lori triangle, we haven't gotten much character development. It seems like the only time we ever see another character is when they are interacting with either Shane, Lori or Rick.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Clayton Moore did do a few busts and statues based on the comic.

Had the opportunity to speak to Clay at this past New York Comic Con. Asked if there was any plans to produce some new Walking Dead statues and he said that with the TV show in production he's now very limited to the characters he's allowed to do now. I had made a suggestion for a piece that he liked the idea of, but we wasn't sure if it's covered under the television agreement.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Been reading the Compendium the last few days, awesome stuff. I really hope they touch on more stuff from the comics.

This early on I'd say thats quite deliberate. Its harder to get people hooked when you expect them to digest (no double meaning intended) too many characters early on. I could never get into Heroes for that reason, too many people and their stories to follow. Not surprised it was cancelled. I've liked the focus of Walking Dead so far.
