Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

They're going back to the city again next week? Oy. Come on. While I did like the subplot involving Guillermo's group of survivors, I feel that it takes the focus away from the core group a bit too much. Seeing another group of survivors that seem to be doing well tends to marginalize the struggles of Rick's group. I mean, those Latino gang guys seem to be doing well getting along within their group dynamic and with others while taking care of invalids and convalescent elderly people, why are you guys in Rick's group having so much trouble dealing with each other?

Also, the existence of Guillermo's group in such close proximity to Rick's group creates a possible haven for the latter group. Now, I'm sure they won't go that route, story-wise, but it does raise the question: Why not just join Guillermo's group? (unless next week we learn that G's group gets overrun by geeks lol).

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I'm loving this so far.. but..

hmm.. going spoiler for the comic here..

Anyone else think they are gonna have to REALLY mess with the Governor's story line a bit? I mean.. I LOVE the story.. but realistically, even HINTING at the torture that guy inflicts, and then gets inflicted on him.. *cough* dork nailed to the floor, spoon rape, eye rape, etc..*cough*.. i just don't see how the heck this will ever make it to the screen on AMC.. And really, it is pretty BIG to the story to just scoot around!

Great episode. Bear McCreary is doing an amazing job with the music too. I can't wait for the soundtrack to eventually come out.

I know what you mean. When the first Episode aired I questioned if AMC was brave enough to tackle the heaviest parts of the original story, and by that I especially had the 'Governor' story arc in mind.

A lot of the violence would have to be toned down, but I think the plot details could be rearranged a bit and still work. There are probably other ways to portray how crazy that guy is without going all out like in the comic.

Comic spoilarz

and frankly, I could do without the scenes involving brutal rape. They could really just hint at it and it'd still be fairly effective, dramatically.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Who was it then? I swear he was wearing that same green ringed shirt that Shane had one, but once the camera cut to him, his shirt wasn't ripped an there was no blood.

Unnamed character. He got it, a black guy got it, and there was a brunette who three or four of them were pulling to the ground.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Holy crap did everything just go to hell or what? What drew the zombies to the camp? It seems as if they were doing nothing different.

Another great episode tonight. Figure Merle directed the zombies to the camp?

They were running out of food, so they were bound to come out of the city soon. Making noise and fires will draw them. I doubt Merle had anything to do with it.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

****ing AWESOME.

As soon as Amy got up to go pee I immediately said, "Oh no...", and all hell broke loose. Good to see them sticking to the comics a little more in this episode.

:yess: :hi5:

I'm glad I didn't read the comics. It's all a surprise then. :panic:

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Excellent episode - and we get on the road before the end of the season. Excellent!

Yea, you gotta wonder why there were so many zombies...maybe merle figured that was payback to lead them there.

I don't think Merle led the zombies back to camp - mainly because he would have been leading them back to his brother Daryl as well. Merle doesn't know that Daryl had gone back to Atl to rescue him. Besides, how would Merle manage to lead a pack of walkers back to camp? If he took the van (which seems likely) then he would have to drive slow enough for walkers to follow him, then get out of the van, go through the woods to get to camp since the walkers seemed to come from the woods. Doesn't add up. We have seen that there is only the one road leading into camp, so Rick and the others would have seen the truck by the side of the road as they were making their way back to camp on foot. I'm guessing the walkers are starting to venture out of the city because their food source is drying up there. We saw the lone walker last week eating the deer carcass. The walkers may have smelt the fish cooking or saw the bigger campfire or found the camp by blind luck, but I don't think Merle led them there.

I am wondering how they are going to dispose of the newly dead (Ed, Amy, etc). They must know that they will reanimate, so I am guessing a double tap to the head a la Zombieland is in order. I wonder if Andrea will take care of Amy one last final time?

It almost goes without saying now that this series is rocking! Another solid episode. These last two episodes are going to be awesome.

There were some I've never seen before, even in the background. I guess there were more at camp than they show.

Were they wearing red shirts? Those guys always get it.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

The guy that got bit on the shoulder was the hispanic father. He hasn't been named, at least that I recall, but he and his wife and kids have been in quite a few scenes.

There was also the brunette and older black guy that I don't recall ever seeing before.

As to the zombies, it does seem like an awful lot of work for Merle to bring them down on the camp, but I gotta agree with the guys on the show and assume he's going to want revenge. Other than his brother, Merle doesn't seem to me to be the kind of guy that is particularly social or cares about his fellow man. He may assume that his brother could get himself out of any problem, or between the pain and any other drugs he's taking (remember when we first met him?) he may just not be sane enough to care.

I don't expect zombies to roam in packs, and I don't think that's an angle the show is going for. If one finds something, others come, but they aren't particularly organized otherwise. For them to wander that far outside the city in a group...seems out of place without some sort of help. Maybe they did see the fire...it was the first time they built it bigger. I doubt they smelled the fish (they've been cooking food all along, unless they ate the squirrels raw).

But yea, logistically it seems like it would be tough for him to do.

I particularly loved what they did with Guillermo in this episode. That's exactly the kind of writing that makes the books great - set up a situation that seems like it's going in one direction, take it in a completely unexpected one. It helps that the actors are all so damn good, making their characters quite believable.

Jim got bit - we just didn't see it. I'm betting that will be key next week. Also, will they show them putting Andrea down?

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Was a ok episode.

The chick crying over her sister was some terrible acting though.

The Prison storyline has come to define the comic, but can be skipped over entirely. It would be a jarring change for those comic fans, but the situations that happen there are just not suitable for anything other than Saw movies, and even that's pushing it.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Part Comic Spoilers:

I think the thing that attract those zombies that attack the camp was the sports car that Glen was driving. I remember in the comics when they met Abraham and mention about the herd
