Hopefully it doesn't take a lot of time to answer what this mysterious illness is. It looked like Potter turned into a Zombie, but he was never bitten. If I had to guess, he must of eaten something tainted.

The mechanism for infection seems to be from either bite or dying and reanimating. I think eating tainted food would be the same thing as a bite in this case. Someone must be infecting the food or water supply.

The original infection was definitely airbourne, maybe they're changing it up this season.

It's got something to do with the water. I'm betting either the girls are experimenting by putting Walker pieces into the water or there's a bunch of infected in the well the prison is drawing its water from. Then eating that is killing them and then, naturally, they turn into walkers.

The zombie eating the rat was disturbing :lol

That was a preview from Talking Dead of next week's episode (it's the prologue for it though so not really "spoiler" territory). The girls are feeding them like pets. This is probably also why there are so many walkers at the fence.

Yeah it reminds me of Cabin Fever, the water definitely has zombie flesh in it. And definitely the girls are feeding them, that was the point of that scene saying "they are us but different." And they're all huddled together because they have been fed.

I think the airborne infection became inactive after some time and if you eat the flesh off an infected person it activates the dormant infection or supersedes it, who knows right now :huh

That one zombie Rick kept looking at with the fk'd up eyes definitely has something to do with the illness.

:lol

The ideas they come up with in this show.

Like the sticky zombie that fell from the ceiling, flat on its back, trying to get up but ending up peeling the back of his head off cause it's skin stuck to the floor.

:mwaha that was seriously messed up, all he has was skull on the back of his head.

It didn't make sense how she was able to survive out in the open like that to begin with considering all the zombies in the area.

Maybe keeping her husband's zombie head around helped. And she looked like one. Maybe she had their smell on her.

I was just going to say that, his eyes were much different than other walkers and the blood coming out of them reminded me of the way the kid looked after he turned. They also show a female walker in a later episode preview with the weird eyes and blood coming down from her eyes too. There's something connected there that I'm sure we will find out in the coming weeks.

Yeah, I'm kind of over the whole Glenn being off from what happened last season. Its time for him to get over it and deal with the things at hand.

I think she's preggo.

I don't think he's a dumbass for following her. I think he knew she was up to no good but hoped she wasn't.

And she sounded pathetic. She played the poor me, I'm a damsel in distress card. I figured he'd try and help her.

Virus mutations?!? :horror

Yep, all the Walkers look gross. But that one in particular looked "Sick."

Yeah that was confirmed with Shane. But they never touched on eating infected food. That wasn't even confirmed in the comic but only alluded to.

Everybody's already got the virus in them. So whatever the cause of death, they're already gonna turn.

Happens in real life. When I worked for Alderwoods, we called it "skin slippage." Dressing a corpse, often just pulling the hand through the sleeve of a shirt would leave the skin up by the elbow.

Yup, if Michonne could survive like that, she could've.

It's just odd that they're all infected, but a bite can make them turn. The virus must be dormant until a bite. But if that's the case, WTH was the original reason for infection? Probably by injection or as I said earlier, the airborne strain petered out.

And ew :lol

Why didn't Hershel check out the pig when it was sick before it died? Wasn't he a vet?

Maybe because Rick didn't ask him? Pigs sometimes sleep a lot. He might not of thought it was anything to worry about.

That may change.

Say it's swine flu. Can you be fine in the morning and get a cough and drop dead that night? Seems like an awful quick sickness. Maybe it will be a made up one.

I'd like to think it's made up and not taken from a real world sickness.

No need to spoiler something from an episode that's already aired. Those who'd get chaffed over know better than to pop into the thread until they've seen it.

Yeah, they eluded to that on Talking Dead last night as well, saying it'll have repercussions down the road.

I don't think so. The level of decay between the zombies was too varied. My guess is they were transporting Walkers. I also think the former Army medic dude might know something, since after looking at the corpse in front of the store, they panned to his face and then to the rooftop, showing the downed chopper.

There was half a body there, and the other half was on the roof.
