I'm surprised more people aren't talking about the fact that Daryl was not only eating pork, but was licking his fingers and shaking hands with the sick kid as well. Didn't he even lick his fingers after that too? That venison was his signature too.

He must have one helluva an immune system because you know they won't let him get sick or get killed off.

If the pork was fully cooked it wouldn't hurt him a bit. And I think that whole scene and the pig laying doing nothing was to have people think it was coming from the pigs. I think it's all smoke.

Whatever it was killed the kid pretty quick. There's no way Daryl wouldn't show signs of being sick then. And look how many were eating.

My theory :lol The kid was feeding rats to the walkers, got sick, goes into the shower and coughs over the open water barrel and it just goes from there.

Or, in feeding the rats, he gets scratched or infected somehow and gets the fever, dies and turns. Simple as that. He may or may not have infected the water hacking all over it.

Does anyone remember if the kid had bleeding eyes when they showed him laying on the floor after he turned?

Yea he had the bloody eye thing going on like a few other walkers they zoomed in on to drive home something differant is happening to some of them.

I doubt it was the deer. The pig certainly didn't eat any deer. If the pig and a human is sick, it's gotta be water. Even in the preview for this season theres quote from Hershel, "You go outside you risk your life. Take a drink of water, you risk your life."

Yeah, Violet could be a red herring, but this rat scene comes after Patrick dies from succumbing to the sickness. It's for the next episode.

Point is, it doesn't even have to be the pigs (or the deer for that matter). Daryl put his hands in his mouth after touching Patrick's palms. Patrick was sick that day and had to leave "story time". Unless Daryl's got the perfect immune system, he should be sick.

There's also this promo from a few months back,

Uh that gross scene. But yeah I noticed that as well. Maybe ole Daryl kicks the bucket from it.

Don't ever work with kids if you think that's gross. :monkey4 :lol

Why do you hate Daryl so much? Because so many like him? Hate to tell you but I just read where he's going to have more to do this season.

And did anyone pay attention to the opening credits?

Andrew Lincoln
Norman Reedus
Scott Wilson

were there any others? I don't recall seeing Yeun's for one. I'm not one to pay close attention to details like some of you all. It may not mean anything but I'm wondering.

I remember that. Wonder if he was referring to the water the kid contaminated or the river water.

Rick ran water over his face by the fence. Not sure if that was a rain bucket or not though.

Is it just me or is something going on between Rick and Michonne? Rick and Carl both acted more than normally excited that she was back. The comicbooks seemed like an innocent gesture, but the razor seemed to imply something beyond Rick's scruffy looks. Enjoyed the episode overall.

I don't hate Daryl, but I even cringed a bit at that.

Daryl ain't a kid for starters and it wasn't exactly subtle. The character clearly did it on purpose, I guess to gross out or intimidate Patrick which didn't even work ("Mr. Dixon":lol).

Finger lickin' good I suppose, too bad there won't be any repercussions from that considering Daryl's show status.

It's not so much that I hate him, I just hate how he's taken over the show and the idiotic super fans he has. It all started with that "if he dies we riot." I'd really like to see him gone to see all the crying and whimpering all over the net :lol

Well, it's not like he licked his fingers after he touched the kid. Didn't Carl also have contact with him after that? Clearly we don't know however whatever it is works yet.

On Talking Dead they explained Daryl is pretty much the leader now, not Rick, Daryl's the one that brings most of these people in. I don't see him as invincible though and I was also kinda taken back when he started to become the fan favorite somwhere around Season 2. I like him but he isn't my favorite character and if he died I'd definately still watch this.

More importantly, how does he charge it? :lol

Plenty of idiots say otherwise :huh

Oh I know, but what are ya gonna do? As long as they can find a way to kill him off that is legit and not just a ratings grab and it doesn't affect future ratings and budgets I'm fine with it.

For me it's been :

Rick
The Governor
Shane
Merle
Carl
Herschel

and than Daryl. He's a great character, I like that he's the strong silent type, but those others were more fleshed out and had a bigger range to show off their acting. Daryls the same character he was in the second episode. Carl by comparison has come a loooong way.

:exactly::lecture

On all points. So far Shane left the biggest hole in the show since he was such a great dynamic for Rick to bounce off of.

I understand why Daryl is the most popular, but when you look at him compared to other characters he really doesn't have a personality. Merle had so much more character than Daryl and was the only death I was upset over from S3.

If they kill him off, it will need to be some kinda heroic way so it keeps people with the show.

Wonder how rick puts music on his mp3 without an internet connection. That or it had songs on ot when he got it.
More importantly, how does he charge it? :lol

Because my stock car stereo has no digital input, I have a connector that allows my iPod to play by broadcasting it via a short-range transmitter to the radio. It plugs into the cigarette lighter and also charges the iPod while transmitting. He could easily have found it in a car during one of their salvage missions.

I think you're barking up the wrong tree with Harry Potter, Weenie. Dude was too squeamish for all that. And the girls are feeding rats to the walkers. They're the ones who think the walkers are pets.
