Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

A friend and I were discussing this and we thought it would be entertaining if they found a prison with the prisoners still in their cells. This could be their new army to fight the zombies. Zombies never got inside the prisons.

Except the prisoners would be dead. If they are stuck in their cells, they can't get food and thus would have starved to death by now. Nice idea, but it doesn't work.

You guys should REALLY read the Walking Dead comic series, that's all I'm going to say.

At this point I am not sure it matters. They could read it and it might spoil some things but the series could also take a huge turn and do a lot of stuff they didn't do in the comic.

That wasn't my point at all. It is well-known that the TV series will not be following the comic's plotline.

My point had to do with their desire to see what would happen with a prison during a zombie outbreak, and whether it would be safer, or more dangerous. It turns out that the comic investigated that angle thoroughly, and it makes for an interesting read. That is all.

Ah yea from that respect I will agree with you then.

I second that!! The Book is a Compelling Read!! You won't want to put it down!

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I finally saw episode 6 a few weeks ago, and I wanted to say (even though the conversation is long gone) that Amy's death in episode 5 was even more impressive after learning that none of the personal identity part of the brain comes back. The fact that there was no 'Amy' left before Andrea blew her brains out makes that scene so much more ____ed up, because for all intents and purposes, it seems like there's a shread of recognition in her eyes when she re-animates. In actuality, it's just her zombie brain looking at the world for the first time without the impediment of a persona/conscience/value system, and when she looks at her sister, what seems like a girl looking at someone she loves again is actually just an undead cannibal seeing breakfast for the first time.

Like I said--____ed up. And awesome. It was a great finale. The CGI fireball and blood were completely lost on me, and the grenade finally turning up was something I'd been waiting for since Halloween. The whole arc was perfect from stem to stern. I really hope season 2 happens this summer.

We should all have zombie brians :yess:

Then how would we make zombie tv shows?
headscratch2.gif

It would depend on where the storyteller thought the soul was rooted. My assumption is that it's not in the primitive brain (it's in the higher brain), but if the people telling the story thought otherwise, then a lot of implications change.

Watching that scene, it looks like Amy is still in there for the first few moments. I was glad that the next episode made it clear she wasn't.

We would no longer have need for zombie tv shows. :lecture

So you mean we should have zombie brains, but not be zombies?

Just be eating, ____ting, ____ing machines?

Precisely.

Like if someone spliced Jaws with Lindsey Lohan?

I hope you two never stop working the night shift. :)

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Just a heads up that Amazon has dropped the price for the first season on blu-ray to $22.99.

Thanks for the heads up! :rock My pre-order still says $27.99, do any of you guys know how long it takes for the price to adjust with the pre-order price guarantee?

Not sure. The price just dropped a few hours ago, so by tomorrow Amazon should have adjusted the price.

You are usually refunded shortly after it ships.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Another thought- I guess the virus/sickness only effects humans? I don't recall seeing any zombie animals. Why does the sickness only effect humans? The 5th grader in me would love to see zombie gorillas or zombie grizzly bears.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I heard this will not be coming back in July (moved back to October), but I can find no source that confirms it.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

July isn't right for this show. Too many people are on vacation, etc, Halloween was perfect, its starting to get cold, more people stay in, and obviously the timing with fear fest is great. I'm ok waiting it out and maybe getting a 3rd season after this one more in the spring but then get to the 4th for Halloween again. THey should always have a new season lined up for Fear Fest.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

July will be fine. The summer is quickly becoming a great time for tv shows to air. The USA network has most of thier top shows air during this time and has made all of them hits.

People are looking for something to watch in the summer in the absence of other shows. If anything, the lack of competition will only help this show.

Agree 100%. I'm too busy in the summer months to watch much tv, so October is perfect.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

It's something I'd want to have in the fall. Long time to wait. I think the hardcovers are calling me.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I just got the 1st compendium. Looking forward to the read. Wondering when the second is coming out. Perhaps with the new season.
