Because they've stuck very close to the comic so far, right? :wink1:

Close enough that I know Carl isn't going to be checking out.
The TV show itself seems to be leading the narrative that way as well, independent of the comics.

:rock

that is really awesome

Kirkman himself said if he could he would keep this show on the air for 40 years and just follow Carl growing up. I think that says everything you need to know. Obviously it won't happen but Carls not going anywhere. Rick and Daryl will die long before Carl.

Atlanta to farm to prison and back to farm, Woodburry, Governor, assault with a Tank, Hunters. It's more like the comic now than the entire run so not the best example. :lol

All of the major plot points and characters exist and have played out. What is missing so far aside from the winter at the gated community?

True. A lot of the major stuff is there. But overall there's a lot of situation-character swapping. And this seasons epidemic, that was never in the comic books. There's a lot of stuff that I'm too lazy to pick at and it's not worth arguing over; but those differences are what keeps me interested with the show.

But hey, I think this next coming episode in February is supposed to be line for line. I'm looking forward to that.

Yea I'm not complaining that they change subtle little things, thats great. Sometimes differances are needed, like in Watchmen's adaptation I thought the ending they chose was far superior to all the sudden aliens exist and are the threat.

Same goes here. Someone was beheaded. It wasn't Ty but it was a major noteworthy event from the comic that still played out in some way on the show. Just like I'm sure someones legs will be eaten eventually, but it obviously won't be Dale. They are staying true to the important stuff like where they go and characters emotional types etc which is what matters most.

Maybe this time, they're going to go for the dark meat? :monkey4

If they were going to kill Carl, they would have when he got shot at the farm. That was their one shot IMO. Carl just makes them progress through time faster than the comic is moving. Carl is the one character they can't fudge the timeline with. He looks older every episode. No way could you buy him still being 8 or 10 or whatever he started out at.

So yeah, I think Carl is the ONE safe character on the show, but I don't think they'll be getting rid of Rick before Carl can manage on his own.
