The Invitation is good and on Netflix?

Yes and yes!

I'll add it to my Netflix list and watch it later. :D

:rock

If Khev says it's good I'll have to check it out.

From 1 to the VVitch, how good is it Khev?

The VVitch is definitely a fuller artistic experience from beginning to end compared to The Invitation which is basically people chatting in a house in a contemporary setting until things...well I'll leave it at that. Like The VVitch it relies on an overall sense of dread and impending doom rather than cheap jump scares or graphic shock. The ending of The Invitation triggered emotions that I don't know that I've ever experienced in a film of this genre before. Very unique.

Invitation and a film called Hush are both good horror/thrillers on Netflix.... Hush was directed the by the guy who directed Oculus (a pretty decent Hollywood horror film IMO). Both are worth the time to watch.

I watched the Invitation and it was pretty good and a bit unnerving, IMO! :lol

I'll check out Hush, thanks for the tip. :duff

Is Hush the one about the videographer hired to film a guy? If so I enjoyed that too. Great performance by the lead actor.

To whoever recommended The Invitation. Well done. That movie was pretty good. Even though you could see where it was going early on, it did not prepare you for the ending and what they were showing you. I enjoyed it.

I just watched this on Amazon prime. Um yeah. Don't know what to say. I didn't like the weird aspect ratio, that's for certain, and I had to use subtitles in order to understand what they were saying. My first impression of The VVitch; didn't like it but appreciate what the filmmakers tried to do. No complaints about the performances either.

I find it odd that many native speakers have said they needed subtitles, but I didn't, and I'm not a native speaker myself, I'm far from sounding like one... There must be some phonetic similarities between Spanish and their weird accent.

:lol I love seeing people's first reactions to this film. You just don't know how it is going to go.

Don't know what to say.

What'd you think of the ending? I was just kind of shocked but then burst out laughing in the theater because the f-bombs were FLYING from about half of those in attendance because of how pissed they were by how things went at the end. I think I know which half of that crowd you'd be agreeing with. ;)

The ending was weird but after a minute it all came together. "You know who" was working that family the moment they reached their farm. Never buy goats for the kids; lesson learned.:lol

I was as speechless as mutie myself until I slept on it, its meaning and all that stuff started to come to me slowly, I still need to rewatch it, I have a feeling it won't be as heavy a re-watch as say, 2001.

The black Felipe angle I didn't believe until the end, I was like "naaaah, too obvious, it's just representing the supersti... Oh that a talking goat" and honestly, it was a perfect ending.

I still cant get over how perfect this movie is, whether it appealed to you or not, I think it's a film that is very hard to find flaw with. The acting, Writing, Directing, and Cinematography are, in my eyes, flawless.
