Classic stuff right there. Brody's style was a bit ahead of its time IMO (as was Stan "the Lariat" Hansen's stiff style).

If I were a wrestler, Abdullah is one guy I absolutely would never have agreed to get in the ring with :lol

--edit: just seeing that you posted a video with Hansen after I wrote my post. He was a beast.--

I wouldn't either. He might cut me with a dirty blade and give me Hepatitis C.

Just heard about this on the WWE Legends discussion on WWE Classics, and it's an interesting historical footnote. Edge does what he can here, and really demonstrates that Gangrel should never have been given the mic:

Crowd response tells the tale. Guys on that show were acting like this may have been unplanned, and Edge just took the initiative.

Ugh, there's a reason WCW was kicking their ass during this time frame. :lol Unfortunately, with zero credible competition, if McMahon doesn't step up his game, this is what we're headed into again. :monkey1

Yeah. The only saving grace is that they've had no real competition for over 10 years now, and they still pump out some decent matches and storylines every once in awhile. But. . .Brood was BAAAD. At least 90% of Raw isn't some guy against a jobber, which was what we really saw prior to the WCW/WWF competition of the '90s.

Anyone see Smackdown last night? The second Bryan match was pretty great, because it was reminiscent of so many old ROH matches where he was in control the majority of the time, methodically taking the other guy apart. He even did the "I've got 'til 5, referee!" thing, which I haven't seen him do in the WWE before.

This is a rare match. It is the first and last time the Hart brothers ever wrestled the Steiner brothers (At least as teams). This is actually an awesome match with some good amateur wrestling mixed in. This is when Scott Steiner was a great wrestler before he turned into roidzilla and could barely move. I was also impressed with Owen here who held his own.

I :lol'd when Tensai's fat ass almost slipped and fell trying to climb out of the ring. He tried to play it all cool and ____ like he didn't, but I caught it. :lol

Not that great of a Raw this week IMO. But I did enjoy seeing Paul Heyman back. Brock definitely needs him to be his voice badly.

Its a shame only about 10 people in the crowd seemed to know who he was. The crowd killed it for me they were so dead!

I don't think it was so much that as the crowd is already annoyed with the stupid storyline of Brock. I'm glad they hired Heyman back. If there was anyone who could dig that storyline out of the grave it's in, it's Paul.

I loved seeing Heyman last night. He may be a scumbag, and maybe he screwed over lots of wrestlers back in the day, but damn if he can't talk.

I remember that match. A friend of mine had the tape it was released on. Owen was great in the ring going back to his days in Japan or as the Blue Blazer. He actually started in the mid-80s in Calgary, so by 93, he was pretty seasoned. And the Steiners were really good back in the day, particularly Scott, who was really athletic. The Steiners also had a brief stint in ECW around that time.

Anyone here seen the first date Rick Steiner went on? :lol

Those mid-90s Coliseum videos used to have some real gems hidden among the Kamala and Repo Man matches. Like this one..
