I know, right? I wish he was still around.
Some people didn't like him later in his career, but I actually liked how angry he got. In the end, he hated the Human race.

I think that "You Are All Diseased" was not only his best released work, but it's my favorite thing that anyone created, in any medium during the late 20th century. He was at the top of his game. You're right, he sincerely disliked our species as a group. Have you heard the recent postumous release, "I kind of like it when a lot of people die"? You HAVE to listen to it, if you haven't yet. Check it out on Youtube. He reworked it years later for his last special, but it's not as good. The original is so offensive, that he had to abandon it when 911 happened. It's the most brutal non fiction I've ever heard in my life... but it's strangely uplifting.
That title just made me
Makes me think of this.
I'll need to watch that Diseased special again, I haven't seen it in awhile. Once in awhile I'll go on a tear watching clips from his specials.
Yeah, that's the reworked version! The original is so much better. It sucks that he chickened out, after 911. Again, here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlzV7JDz8f4
I can understand why he didn't do it at the time. Even 13-14 years old when 9/11 went down, I felt utterly horrible about it.
But he's definitely right, some won't openly admit it but people love that type of ****.
Thanks for posting that, I didn't know he reworked it. I still remember seeing his one special he did after 9/11, like maybe a year later because he was talking about the war on terrorism.
Good list.
Carlin would of lost his mind if he was still alive during the last election.
Yeah, he was raised in New York, too, so it likely effected him personally. I don't know. When 911 happened I was in my twenties, idealistic and attending university while reading a lot of Noam Chomsky, and I'm Canadian. My perspective was a lot different then, compared to where I'm at now.
Also, I got to see him perform the rest of the material from this special live in Vancouver, over a year before he filmed this special. His health was better at the time, and frankly, I thought his delivery was better too. Mind you, I hit the bar pretty hard for that show. The way I remember it though, his routine on suicide was hilarious when I saw it live... People were howling. The HBO version was slower paced than I'd remembered, and not as well received.
Going from the material in his monologues, I could see him supporting Bernie, but neither Hillary nor Trump.
Speaking of comedians, I really hate Robin is gone.
We've lost so many legends. I feel sorry for the generation being brought up on this:
Was it a HBO special?
