What grade did you teach?

I had a borderline psychotic buddy in High School that got into a fist fight with a substitute teacher and got so bad they were rolling around in the hallway.

Need more info :lol. Who started it, what happened to your buddy, and was the substitute teacher reprimanded?

It was before I associated with him in HS. I'm not entirely sure, but as nuts as he was, I'm sure it was him that started it.

He failed year after year of Senior year and only graduated because he accrued enough credits to finally get bumped in by default. I haven't talked to him since then, so I assume he's still a loser.

Many of my classmates never did anything with their lives and are still living with their parents.

I also had a schoolteacher in elementary school ended up having a thing with a 16 year old student :lol

I still vividly remember waking up and my grandmother is watching the news and she's like "isn't this your teacher?" He got fired and I just looked up him and he's working at some Christian academy :rotfl

He ended up marrying the girl when she was of age.

That sounds nuts. I had a Calculus teacher in Grade 12 that was only 24 years old. Some of the repeat failures in one of his remedial classes were 21, and called him "Mister" - which was pretty funny :rotfl. The school I went to had something like a 70% graduation rate. But, most of the kids just passed because the administration needed to boost their numbers so they wouldn't get in trouble with the City. Now, I think the school's under threat of shutting down, because it's only gotten worse over the years. That's not to say that the teachers don't try their best, but the ghetto kids are the worst. A lot of them should be in juvenile detention, away from the general public.

I think the ****** parents and ****** culture is the number one aggressor to low graduate rates and low test scores. Sure not every teacher is amazing, sure I had a lot that were garbage and did questionable things... but it comes down to it being available to everyone, free of charge and it's not taken advantage but taken for granted. The Philly school system is a mess and it's constantly broke due to the ****** local leadership.

You don't get a diploma, you're going to have a much harder time trying to get employment compared to say 30 years ago.

Middle school and high school. There's nothing that would make me want to deal with that age group again. My patience level has dropped considerably as I've aged so I'd probably end up on the news for being the teacher that punched all the kids and their parents.

I imagine that'd be the case given how weird this country has become over the last 10 years. Kids have become monsters with how entitled and spoiled they are.

I honestly fear the day sending a kid out into the world.

Believe me, working with 3-5 year olds.......I can just see what a mess the future holds.

I don't want to punch the kids at all. I want to punch....and kick....the parents.

I don't think parents should beat their kids, but there definitely needs to be stricter forms of punishment than sticking them in a corner. Like really? If it was me I'd sit there and daydream.

There's also way too many iPhones in the hands of children.

Phones had only just started to come in in my last year of school. I got my first one for college. Must be a whole bunch of new ***t teachers have to tackle nowadays.
