Everyone is influenced by media, but the onus is on you to have a broadview on it all so you're not getting half truthes.

As much as I give Hideo Kojima ****, wow did Metal Gear Solid 2 hit it on the head about information control.

Talk of collective consciousness forming in the bowels of the White House aside, that was alarmingly prophetic. We see the attempts to sculpt a narrative and shape contexts Kojima predicted on a daily basis at this point - undesirable, inconvenient or contradictory information to that narrative is quickly swept into the digital garbage can.

"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists, and will persist."

While I believe Eisenhower's farewell speech has great significance in the world today with this pointless twenty year war going on... the information-industrial-complex has taken precedence. Google, Facebook, Twitter and Youtube are four pillars of the ministry of propaganda.

It's very telling that those companies have been allowed to form unassailable monopolies. Hell, YouTube IS Google.

In a sane world I'd expect there to be far more competition in the case of a video hosting platform, yet the closest thing is distant runner-up Vimeo - which is mostly used for casual piracy and student film projects. I ****ing love YouTube's updated ToS bull****.

Diversity of thought is frowned upon now. The companies are all headed by ultra progressives that want a borderless world. Were not mature enough as a species for that to happen... and if you think otherwise you're a racist.

College campuses are a breeding ground now for only one narrative, when it's supposed to be a melting pot of many ideas.

They only want a borderless world for tax purposes. It always boils down to money. As the political class have also become steadily more the monied elite, they can afford to live well away from the actual results of their policies in safety and security, never having to deal with the fallout of racial and religious culture shock reaching boiling point.

One hundred percent correct. You could also throw Hollywood in that shuffle as well. They want a gunless, borderless society while they're preaching this behind their twelve foot high, walled off 20,000 square foot estate, that is patrolled by their private security carrying AR-15s.

Never base doing what’s right on what others are doing.

Yeah, I got that fortune cookie once too. I still hold doors open and all that for women. Big ****ing deal--a lot of men still do it. I can hold a door open for a woman and still think she's a ***** when she doesn't have enough manners to thank me for it or looks at me like I personally offended her by assuming she couldn't open the door herself.

I agree. I usually say “you are welcome“ when they are rude.

And “feminists“ killed it if anything, not women.

But it’s not only feminists though. There are plenty of women out there that aren’t feminists—they just don’t have any manners. They’re self-absorbed and think they deserve better treatment because they’re female and don’t think they have to treat others the same way—even other women. There’s not another group on this planet that hates women the way that women do.

It's always been funny to me that feminists want gender equality and believe they're on equal footing with men, and then they hit a man, and the said man slaps the soul out of them and then they play the weak woman victim card in admittance that they're not equal :lol

Look at the court system with how bad husbands are completely ****ed in divorces. It's not the 1950s anymore. Women should not be awarded the home the ****ing husband broke his back for.

I can kinda sympathize with the frustration a man goes through and feels the only way out is to kill their wife :lol

I think most people lack general manners and it's not a new thing. Next time you go out to eat watch how few people say thank you when a drink gets refilled or put their used silverware on the plate for the server. Little things like that don't happen anymore

That's what I was trying to say with "don't let others determine what you do". It's hard. You have 10 women not say "thank you" for opening the door and the tendency is to not want to do it the 11th time.

World's headed in the wrong direction IMO, and I'll try to do the best in my little world to do the right things in spite of.

I think the old saying was that if you get angry at someone for not saying thank you for holding a door you shouldn't be holding the door

I hear you on this.....I hold open doors, pull out chairs.....offer to carry heavy stuff......etc etc.

My best friend happens to be a woman, and she gives me an eye roll if I do this stuff for her.....shes also about 15 years younger so I think thats the difference. My wife still appreciates all those gesturers.

It makes what we were taught in my generation a bit confusing. Who appreciate what I consider general politeness, and who does not ?

In general , the point should be , do these things for people not for appreciation but because you believe it to be the nice thing to do.....

I have a few rules for elderly people that are similar.....
